3 Things That Cause a Motorcycle to Emit White Smoke at High RPM

Warming up the vehicle is one of the maintenance steps that need to be done regularly, even before the vehicle hits the road. 

However, in some cases, the vehicle will emit white smoke when you try to push the gas to the maximum.

1. Problems with the Piston Ring  

For riders who are not familiar with the automotive world, it can be panic-inducing and distressing to find their vehicle emitting plumes of white smoke rising high. 

However, the smoke will appear when the gas is fully pressed, but it will disappear when you let the engine idle.

Interestingly, the smoke will reappear when you try to press the gas to show high rpm. What actually happens? 

This condition can occur due to several factors, one of which is a problem with the vehicle's piston ring that causes oil to unintentionally enter the combustion chamber.

This happens because the piston ring starts to weaken, resulting in a decrease in performance. 

The weakening of the piston can occur due to a buildup of deposits from incomplete combustion or from the accumulation of dirt that makes the piston stiff when moved, so it is not surprising if the motorcycle emits white smoke at high rpm. 

2. Improper Installation of the Piston Ring

Another reason why the vehicle's engine emits white smoke when the gas is pressed is due to improper installation of the piston ring. 

This condition allows oil that is in the crankshaft (below the piston) to successfully seep into the upper part of the piston. 

In other words, you should not install it carelessly. To avoid installation errors, please leave it to a mechanic who is an expert in the field. 

Once repaired, the plume of smoke will no longer be visible even if you try to operate the engine. 

3. Oil Entering the Combustion Chamber 

According to experts who understand this condition, the plume of smoke can appear due to several factors. 

In other words, it is not entirely caused by problems with the vehicle's piston rings. So what causes the motorcycle to emit white smoke at high rpm? 

This condition can also occur due to oil burning in the combustion chamber, which should not happen. 

If the main cause comes from oil burning after the motorcycle is disassembled, you may need to check it again. Through this re-examination, you can determine why oil is entering the vehicle's combustion chamber. 

In this condition, please check again whether the valve oil seal has been replaced after the engine was taken down.

If the valve oil seal has been replaced, try checking if the valve stem is worn or scratched. Because a worn valve stem allows oil from the cylinder head to enter the combustion chamber. 

If the cause of the motorcycle emitting white smoke at high rpm is a worn valve stem, then it is time to replace the valve with a new one.
