Dangerous! 10 Songs You Shouldn't Listen to While Driving

Who likes to listen to music while driving? Especially when encountering traffic jams or when driving alone. The melody of a song can certainly be a powerful remedy to chase away your fatigue and boredom, my friend.
A study on this was conducted by Dr. Simon Moore from Metropolitan University in London, England in 2013.
The result showed that listening to certain songs can make driving more enjoyable. For example, "Billionaire" - Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars, "I'm Yours" - Jason Mraz, and "The Scientist" - Coldplay. These three songs have an optimal tempo that can make the human heart beat around 60-80 times per minute.
Unfortunately, not all songs are safe to listen to while driving. Especially songs with fast tempos and heavy genres. More specifically, according to the study, women should avoid listening to hip-hop songs.
For example, the songs "Hey Mama" - The Black Eyed Peas, "Young, Wild and Free" - Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa (feat. Bruno Mars), and "Paper Planes" - MIA. Meanwhile, men are advised to avoid heavy metal music like "Paradise City" - Guns N' Roses, "Dead on Arrival" - Fall Out Boy, and "Walkie Talkie Man" - Steriogram.
"Songs with fast tempos can create excessive happiness and make you concentrate more on the music than the road. Fast tempo songs can also make people drive faster to the rhythm of the music," said Dr. Simon Moore, quoted from Huffingtonpost.
Here is a list of songs considered dangerous:
1. "Hey Mama" - The Black Eyed Peas
2. "Dead on Arrival" - Fall Out Boy
3. "Paper Planes" - MIA
4. "Walkie Talkie Man" - Steriogram
5. "Paradise City" - Guns N' Roses
6. "How You Remind Me" - Nickelback
7. "Hit the Road, Jack" - Ray Charles
8. "Get Rhythm" - Johnny Cash
9. "Heartless" - Kanye West
10. "Young, Wild and Free" - Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa (feat. Bruno Mars)
For example, Kanye West's song "Heartless," which has a theme of love. At the beginning, its rhythm is very melancholic. However, when listened to continuously, there is a rap section in the middle that can make drivers want to groove.
Another song with a similar tempo is "Young, Wild and Free" - Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa (feat. Bruno Mars). Then, "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses comes as an example of music that has a fast rhythm from the start.
Anyone who listens to these legendary songs will surely get carried away and even sing along. But, if listened to while driving, the tempo of these songs can reduce concentration.
However, this study is not without its shortcomings. The respondents were only eight people, all of whom were British. It is possible that the results would differ if the study were conducted in Indonesia, especially with a larger number of respondents and considering the road conditions in Indonesia.
One thing is for sure, the main factor in driving safety comes from oneself as the driver. It's not enough to have a driver's license (SIM), but you also need to understand safety driving techniques.
