To Arrive Safely at Your Destination, Here is a Prayer for Long Journeys by Car

Entering the long holiday, going home has become a tradition that must be carried out every year. Before embarking on a journey that can take hours, Muslims are required to say a prayer first before starting the trip. Here is a series of prayers before the journey and the prayer for long-distance travel by car. 

Prayer for Long-Distance Travel Using a Vehicle 

Before reciting the prayer for safety during the journey, do not forget to read the travel prayer using a vehicle first. This prayer contains the meaning of being granted protection while you and your family are traveling far. As His creatures, you can only prepare thoroughly by checking the condition of the vehicle. 

First of all, please recite the prayer when getting into the vehicle, which goes

“Subhanaanalladzii sakhkhara lanaa hadzaa wamaa kunnaa lahuu muqriniin wa inna illa rabbinaa lamunqolibuun”. 

Which means “Glory be to God who has subdued all this for us, while we were previously unable to control it, and indeed we will return to our Lord (on the Day of Judgment)”. 

After reciting the prayer upon getting into the vehicle, you can then continue with the long-distance travel prayer as a complement. The long-distance travel prayer is 

“Allahumma hawwin ‘alainaa aafaranaa hadzaa waatwi ‘anna bu’dahu. Allahumma antashookhibu fissafari walkholiifatu fiil ahli”. 

This prayer not only asks for protection during the journey but also alleviates the worry of unwanted events. When reciting it, there is a feeling of being protected and the heart becomes more at peace.
