Several Types of Schools for Children with Special Needs

Life is indeed not as beautiful as many people imagine. Some people envision living like in Disney cartoon movies that always end happily ever after. Unfortunately, life in this world is not as ideal as the storylines created by scriptwriters.
Some people are tested with themselves having abilities different from others. Others are tested by having children with disabilities. However, even though these tests come, it does not mean one must despair. There are many lessons to be learned from such seemingly unpleasant destinies.
The laws of nature apply to everything in this world. Every person who has more shortcomings than others on one side will be compensated with more on the other side. How many blind people have excellent hearing, they can identify sounds that others can hear just the same. There are also people who are physically disabled but are gifted with an IQ that exceeds that of the average person. And many more examples.
For friends who have children with abilities different from others, do not be disheartened. Friends can hone the hidden talents possessed by these children.
Friends can also seek information about which schools are suitable for their children with special needs. Because in Indonesia, many people are still closed-minded and squint at children with special needs. Enrolling them in regular schools may not be the wisest choice.

Here are some types of schools for children with special needs that exist in Indonesia. The existence of special schools (SLB) aims to make it easier for children with special needs to be handled by teachers who are skilled and have more patience than regular school teachers.
SLB-A
For friends who have children who are blind survivors – people with visual impairments – you can enroll your child in this type of school. Learning in SLB-A uses methods of touching, recognizing shapes, and recording sounds. It is common in the world for blind survivors to be taught to read Braille.
SLB-B
SLB-B is intended for children who have hearing impairments, commonly referred to as deaf. The method used to convey information in this school employs sign language. Sign language varies from country to country, but still has similarities.
SLB-C
For friends who are blessed with children with intellectual disabilities, you can enroll your child in SLB-C. The teachers in SLB-C are very patient in dealing with children who have mental limitations and intelligence below average.
SLB-D
For schools suitable for your child who has mobility issues or physical disabilities, you can enroll them in SLB-D. This school has access that greatly facilitates physically disabled students to "walk" because every location is designed for that. From ramps without steps to areas that can be traversed by wheelchairs.
SLB-E
For friends who have children who have difficulty controlling their emotions and are prone to outbursts, your child may be a survivor of emotional disorders. Children like this are highly discouraged from being enrolled in regular schools as they will often cause problems and others may not understand them.
If you have a child who is a survivor of emotional disorders, you can enroll them in SLB-E. The teachers there are certainly equipped with patience and tricks to handle children with emotional disorders.
SLB-G
SLB-G is intended for children who have more than one special need. For example, children who are both physically disabled and intellectually disabled, blind and deaf, and other combinations.
These are some types of schools for children with special needs. I hope this writing is beneficial for friends.
