How to Make Toy Cars from Used Toothpaste Boxes

However, it turns out that you can transform used cardboard into toy cars. Moreover, toy cars made from cardboard do not require much cost to make with your child. Here’s how to make toy cars from toothpaste cardboard.
How to Make Toy Cars from Cardboard
Cardboard toy cars can be made with children aged three years and older. Some steps may be quite dangerous for children because they involve sharp objects like cutters or scissors. Make sure to be careful and accompany your child while making these cardboard toy cars.
Tools and Materials Needed
There are various types and sizes of cardboard. You can determine what size of cardboard will be used to make the toy car. Cardboard that is quite easy to find at home is toothpaste cardboard or milk cardboard.
After determining the cardboard to be used, prepare tools such as a cutter, scissors, ruler, marker, watercolor, bottle caps (if using small-sized cardboard), and skewers.
Making the Desired Car Pattern
The next step in making a toy car from cardboard is to create the car pattern. The cardboard used in this method is small-sized toothpaste cardboard.
Making the Front Part of the Car
On the body of the cardboard that has the product logo, make a diagonal line about 5 cm from the edge of the cardboard. Make the same diagonal line on the other side. After that, cut using scissors. Make sure to leave the other two sides uncut.
On the side that is not cut, insert it into the cardboard until it looks like the front of a bus. Glue it with the leftover cardboard glue.
Making the Wheels
After getting the front of the car, it’s time to make the car wheels. Prepare two skewers and also four used bottle caps. For decoration, you can stick colored paper on the used bottle caps. Make holes in the used bottles.
On the toothpaste cardboard, poke through with the sharp end of the skewer until it penetrates the other side. Repeat for the back of the car. Then insert the used bottle caps that have been drilled.
Decorating the Body of the Car
Your toy car is almost done. You just need to add some pieces of colored paper to make the windows and doors of the car. To do this, first measure on the paper that will be used. After getting the desired result, cut and glue it onto the body of the car.
Now the toy car made from used toothpaste cardboard is ready to play with.
Making toy cars from toothpaste cardboard is quite easy to do. If you have larger cardboard, you can make larger toy cars. You can even make toy cars from cardboard that can be ridden by children. Of course, the process will be more difficult compared to making toy cars from toothpaste cardboard.
