List, Benefits, Requirements, and Stages of Selection for Government Schools

The registration for the State Academy for the year 2021 officially closed on April 30, 2021, after being opened since April 9, 2021. A total of tens of thousands of applicants competed for seats in each chosen study program with an acceptance rate of about 10% of the total applicants.
So, what are the benefits of registering as a student at a state academy? What is the difference compared to public and private universities in general?
Well, for those of you who are currently in 11th grade of high school or even 12th grade who decide to take a gap year and want to know about state academies, let's take a look at the following explanation!
List of State Academies and Job Placement
When you are a student at a public or private university, after graduation you do not have a guarantee to work at an institution unless during your internship, the institution where you intern has made an agreement with you. This is different with state academies. Because of this, state academies have become a favorite for many people.
After graduating from a state academy, students will have priority for placement in the institution that oversees the state academy. To be clearer, you can check the following list of state academies along with the institutions that oversee them.
1. STAN or State College of Accountancy is under the Ministry of Finance
2. STIN or State Intelligence College is under BIN
3. STMKG or College of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics is under BMKG
4. Poltek SSN or Cyber and State Encryption Polytechnic is under BSSN
5. STIS or State College of Statistics is under BPS
6. Poltekip or Polytechnic of Criminal Justice and Poltekim or Immigration Polytechnic is under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights
7. State Academies under the Ministry of Transportation with various concentrations such as Land, Sea, and/or Air Transportation Polytechnic
8. IPDN or Institute of Domestic Government is under the Ministry of Home Affairs
No Tuition Fees
All the state academies mentioned above do not charge any tuition fees for their students. Instead, they provide a monthly allowance that is usually disbursed each semester.
For some state academies, such as STIS, IPDN, STMKG, STIN, and Poltekin/Poltekim, a minimal fee of Rp30,000 will be charged for registration costs such as the SKD test and health tests. IPDN will also charge fees for uniforms.
Can You Become a CPNS Directly?
One of the other advantages of state academies is that graduates from these schools have priority to be directly appointed as CPNS (Civil Servants). This is because from the beginning of registration, prospective students have already registered through sscn which is usually used for CPNS registration.
This certainly becomes an enticing offer for prospective students because they do not need to worry about what job they will get. Moreover, for parents who have already been civil servants, it will be more favored because it is considered to have a "bright future".
Registration Requirements
The registration requirements for state academies are similar to those for registering at universities in general. Applicants must have a diploma, family card, ID card, a photo with a red background, and other documents required by each state academy.
All these documents must then be input by the applicant on the website used for general registration of state academies, namely sscasn.bkn.go.id.
Selection Stages for State Academies
Applicants for state academies must apply on the website sscasn.bkn.go.id to create an sscn account using their NIK. After successfully logging into the account, applicants must upload a personal photo, select the desired school, complete their grades, and upload all required documents. The required documents vary for each state academy.
After all documents are uploaded, the applicant prints the resume and waits for verification. After being verified administratively, the applicant will receive a billing code to pay the registration fee, which will then be used as a requirement for printing the exam card.
After that, monitor when the SKD exam will be held. If you pass the exam, the applicant will then proceed to the next stages, such as psychological tests, interviews, and physical ability tests for certain state academies that require proof of physical health.
That is some explanation about state academies and how to register so that you can better understand this government-provided school.
Certainly, whether it is a state academy or another university, it does not significantly affect the quality of life if one does not have the will to succeed. So, besides getting a high education in a good place, attitude must also always be nurtured so that one becomes a beneficial person for those around.
