Even though we didn't go anywhere, the holiday moments were quite enjoyable for me. Besides playing with neighborhood friends, I helped my mom at home every day. Every morning after waking up, I helped my mom water the plants and sweep the yard. After that, I assisted her in washing some dishes and utensils in the kitchen.

Of all those activities, the most enjoyable for me was making cookies. At the end of the year, my mom made several types of cookies because relatives were coming from afar. I helped my mom all day in the kitchen preparing the dough. I assisted her in shaping the cookies into cute heart shapes.

When baking for the first time, I forgot to put cashews on top of the dough. So, the first batch of cookies was made without cashews. My mom advised me not to forget again. In the end, I finished the first batch of cookies that didn't have cashews while baking the next batch. The cookies were very delicious; I really enjoyed helping to make cookies with my mom because I could also taste the freshly baked cookies.

Example of a School Holiday Story Visiting Aunt's House

This semester's holiday was different from others. My family and I went on vacation to Java Island, specifically to Bantul, Yogyakarta. My parents invited me to visit my aunt and uncle's house in this city. I felt very excited because it was my first time flying on a plane to go out of the island.

Upon arriving at Adi Sucipto Airport in Yogyakarta, we were greeted by my aunt's family. My aunt smiled sweetly and hugged me. She said I had grown taller. Next, my family and I got into a car that my aunt had rented to take us to her house. It turned out that my aunt's house was very far from the city center. I even fell asleep during the journey because I was tired.

After about an hour on the road, we finally arrived at my aunt's house, which was located near a stretch of rice fields. The rice fields were very green and vast. This was my first time experiencing such a beautiful rural atmosphere. It felt very comfortable and calming.

The next day, my aunt invited me to ride a bicycle to the beach near her house. It turned out that my aunt's house was very close to a well-known beach in Yogyakarta. We leisurely rode our bicycles along the way. However, it was a bit tiring because there were some uphill roads to pass.

Despite the fatigue, everything was worth it when we reached the beach. The stretch of gray sand and the blue ocean welcomed us. Not to mention, there were many pine trees along the beach. It was very beautiful and shady. I sat under a pine tree. Unfortunately, we couldn't walk too close to the beach because the waves in the southern part of Java Island were very high.

We ate meatballs and drank coconut water by the beach. I also played on several amusement rides provided at the beach. It was very enjoyable. I spent a week vacationing in Yogyakarta. Truly an unforgettable experience. On the last day, my aunt took us back to the airport. I thanked my aunt.

Example of a School Holiday Story Visiting the Zoo

During the last school holiday, my family and I visited Gembira Loka Zoo. I really love animals, which is why I was very happy when my dad invited me to the zoo the next day.

The next morning, I got ready to go. My mom prepared snacks and treats to eat there if we got hungry. We left early in the morning so that when we arrived, it wouldn't be too hot and still a bit quiet. From home, it took about 1 hour to get there because we encountered many red lights.

Upon arriving at the zoo entrance, my dad went to the ticket counter to buy two entrance tickets. Then we entered the zoo. There, I saw many types of animals in their enclosures. I also saw a large aquarium filled with unique jumbo fish. Not to mention, in the enclosure below, there were also some wild animals like crocodiles. It felt very scary but exciting.

I also saw a rhinoceros opening its mouth. The rhinoceros's mouth was very large. Visitors were prohibited from being too close to the enclosure fence. Although each enclosure was made with strong iron fences, it was certainly for the safety of the visitors to stay at a safe distance.

As the day progressed, the air became hotter, and the sun shone brightly. My dad and I then took a break while enjoying the snacks my mom made. We left around 1 PM. It was very enjoyable. I want to visit the zoo again next time.
