Small children are often prone to being messy and sweaty. Added to that, extreme daily activities can sometimes make their hair unkempt and smell unpleasant. Some parents care about their child's hair condition, while others do not.

For parents who care about their child's cleanliness, especially their hair, they must be anxious about how to make their child's hair soft. Here are some tips to make your child's hair soft.

Don't Use Shampoo Too Often

Excessive things are indeed not good, whatever it is. In this case, it also applies that using shampoo too often can make the scalp dry. When the scalp is dry, it will produce oil to normalize the condition.

When children do not use shampoo, the scalp will still produce excess oil. This is what causes the hair to become flat.

Therefore, ideally, children should use shampoo every 2 or 3 days. However, if your little one is active all day, you can shampoo their hair to keep it smelling nice.

Choose the Right Comb

Each comb has its own function. There are tight combs and there are also loose combs. For thick hair, a loose comb is usually used. However, for hair that is not very thick, a tight comb can be used.

When a child's hair is tangled, the way to comb it should not be from the top. Combing from the top will cause the child pain and make it more tangled. The right way is to comb from the tangled part downwards. Comb gently. Once the tangles are out, comb again from the top.

Choose Shampoo According to Age

Not all types of shampoo can be used by children of all ages. There is an age range for when the shampoo can be used.

For babies aged 0 to 1 year, they can usually still use baby shampoo. However, if they are over 1 year old, you can give them children's shampoo that is already accompanied by conditioner.

Avoid using adult shampoo on your child. This will make the child's hair dry and split ends.

In choosing the right shampoo, you may need to try several brands. Not all brands have formulas that are suitable for your child's scalp and hair. Once you find the right shampoo, do not switch to another brand.

Avoid Using Hair Dryer

Using a hair dryer should not be done by children except occasionally. Hair dryers can damage children's hair. Hair that is often dried with a hair dryer will become brittle, split, and dry. If your child's hair is like this, then the care will be more difficult. It's better to prevent than to treat.

Use Aloe Vera or Pure Coconut Oil

For your child whose hair is less soft, dry, and split, you can use aloe vera or pure coconut oil. For aloe vera, you can grow it yourself and harvest it to apply to your child's head. However, if that is troublesome, you can buy shampoo that contains aloe vera.

For pure coconut oil, also known as virgin coconut oil, you can get it at the nearest pharmacy. The price is also quite affordable.

Those are some tips to make your child's hair soft. Hopefully, these tips are helpful.
