18 Years of Daihatsu Xenia's Journey and Its Changes Each Generation

The journey of Daihatsu Xenia in the automotive field has taken a long time. Currently, Daihatsu Xenia has produced various types of cars with different models. On average, the production results from Daihatsu Xenia are always in demand in the market.

Since its debut in 2003, Daihatsu Xenia began its sales in 2004. Daihatsu Xenia also managed to exist because our sales results were always in the top 3. Since then, the name Daihatsu Xenia has become more recognized by various circles.

The Beginning of Daihatsu Xenia's Journey

On December 11, 2003, Daihatsu Xenia began its journey in Indonesia. At that time, Daihatsu was holding an event called Gaikindo Auto Expo 2003, and we always strive to provide the best impression to you.

At the exhibition, we as Daihatsu Xenia were expected to become one of the pioneers of modern vehicles and family choices. When it first arrived in Indonesia, we were already able to sell cars starting from Rp 70 million to Rp 100 million.

1. First Generation (2003 – 2011)

When first introduced, we immediately released three types of cars, namely Mi, Li, and Xi. On average, the Mi to Li types released were already supported by a 1.0-liter engine. Meanwhile, the Xi type is supported by a capacity of 1.3 liters.

The engine used is a combination of a 5-speed manual transmission. The journey of Daihatsu Xenia continues with a review of the 1.0-liter engine. It should be noted that this 1.0-liter engine has the code EJ-DE DOHC 3-cylinder, which is powered by 50 hp at 5,200 RPM.

This car is also supported by a torque of 90 Nm at 3,600 RPM. Meanwhile, the 1.3-liter engine has the code K3-DE DOHC, which has a capacity of around 1,300 cc. This DOHC is equipped with 16 valves and is already equipped with an injection fuel system.

2. Second Generation (2011 – 2014)

At the end of November 2011, we began launching a new model for Daihatsu Xenia. There were several changes we made to the Daihatsu Xenia production car, from the exterior to the interior that looked striking.

In this second generation, there are several types of engines used. Starting from EJ-VE 3-cylinder 12 valve 984 cc, K3-VE-4-cylinder with 16 valve 1,298 cc. In addition, the variants we provide are diverse.

Starting from 1.0 D M/T (low), 1.0 M M/T (high), 1.3 X M/T (low), 1.3 R M/T (high), to 1.3 R A/T (high). Then in terms of appearance, there is an addition of AC Double Blower. We also provide a special package called Attivo.

In the years 2015-2021, there was a facelift on the Daihatsu Xenia named Great New Xenia (2015-2018) with the type of engine EJ-VE 3-cylinder 12 valve 984 cc and a new engine type 1NR-VE Dual VVT-I 4 Cylinder 16 Valve 1329 cc. The next facelift, Grand New Xenia (2019-2021), besides using the 1NR-VE engine, also received a 2NR-VE Dual VVT-I 4 Cylinder 16 Valve 1496 cc engine.

The differences between the current Daihatsu Xenia and the first generation in this second facelift are accompanied by the development of several parts of the car. Including exterior appearance, more powerful engines, and other supporting features.

For the highest Xenia type, the Grand New Xenia is the Xenia 1.5 R Deluxe. This series receives improvements in terms of interior and exterior appearance.

On the exterior, the Xenia 1.5 R Deluxe is enhanced with the addition of LED lighting, fog lights with bezels, and chrome accents on the grille.

On the exterior, there is an addition of the latest instrument display, a wider center console, digital AC, double blower AC, and an aftermarket 2 DIN touch screen head unit.
