1. Steering Wheel Position

The easiest way to explain this is by using clock language. While driving, the hands should ideally be positioned at 9-3 or 10-2. The 9-3 position is better because the control levers are in this area. However, there are several things that are not recommended while driving, such as using only one hand, having hands inside the steering wheel (airbag danger), etc.

2. Reach Distance with the Steering Wheel

Adjust the backrest position by placing one hand at 12 o'clock on the steering wheel with a straight arm, then adjust the backrest to touch evenly against our back from the lower back to the shoulders. This is the farthest point on the steering wheel that we should be able to hold.

3. Adjusting Seat Height

Next, adjust the seat height and align your body and eyesight to achieve maximum visibility while driving, don't forget to wear the safety belt correctly, adjust all mirror positions, and if you want to turn on the audio system, do it before the trip.

4. Correct Sitting Position

The correct sitting position is to have the body upright forming an angle of 100-115 degrees. Therefore, the car seat should also be adjusted in such a way that it forms an angle of 100-115 degrees from the seat base.

5. Fasten the Seatbelt

After the sitting position is correct and comfortable, make sure to also wear the seatbelt properly, meaning the abdomen and chest are protected by the belt. This reduces the risk of injury in the event of a collision with another vehicle.
