Equipment
Before cleaning the car's leather seats, Daihatsu friends must prepare the equipment. The necessary equipment includes a clean microfiber towel, leather cleaning solution, vacuum cleaner, and leather conditioner.
Steps to Clean Leather Seats
1. Use Cleaning Solution
After ensuring the cleaning solution is most suitable for the car, apply it directly to the leather seats. You should also apply it to other leather areas in the vehicle's interior (e.g., center console and dashboard). Let the solution sit for about 30-60 seconds to remove stains from the leather.
When spraying on the leather dashboard and door panels, it is best to apply the solution in small sections or even directly onto the microfiber towel or applicator pad. This will help avoid overspraying and ensure the solution does not hit the windshield or other windows. If you happen to have excess spray, use a damp towel to clean it up.
2. Scrub with a Brush Until Foamy
Dip the brush into water, then gently scrub the cleaning solution to create foam on the seats. This will soften stubborn stains on the seats and help you clean them easily.
If the brush is not effective in cleaning stains on the seats, you can use an electric drill with a soft white bristle head. The electric drill helps gently scrub the seats and hard plastic.
3. Let Dry and Clean the Remainder
After the seats are clean, wipe the solution with a microfiber towel to avoid dampness for too long. Use a clean damp towel to remove any remaining cleaning solution and lift off any dirt residue.
If the seats are clean and dry, Daihatsu friends can start applying the leather conditioner directly to the leather.
4. Condition the Leather Seats
After applying the conditioner, let it dry for a few minutes. Then, use a clean microfiber towel to wipe off any excess conditioner. Your car's leather seats will feel supple and not greasy.
