Colomadu Toll Gate, formerly known as Kartasura Toll Gate, is part of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road. This toll gate serves as a connection between the Klaten region in Central Java and the Yogyakarta region in Central Java. The toll gate has very vital access as it facilitates tourists who want to visit Solo's tourist destinations, due to its proximity to the city center of Solo.

However, in recent months, this toll gate has become a topic of conversation among many people regarding news of its closure. So, will the gate be closed? For more details, please pay attention to the following review.

Is Colomadu Toll Gate Closing?

Rumors about the closure of Colomadu Toll Gate have been widely heard in television news and social media. But is this news true? For more details, please refer to the following information.

Quoted from the official Instagram of BPJT (Toll Road Management Agency) (@pupr_bpjt), the information regarding the closure of Colomadu Toll Road is indeed true. This was also directly confirmed by Mery Natacha Panjaitan as the President Director of PT. JSN (Jasamarga Solo Ngawi) and Budi Hermawan as the Operational Manager of PT. JSN.

So when will Colomadu Toll Road be closed? According to Mery and Budi, the transaction process at Colomadu Toll Road will officially cease on September 20, 2024. The transaction process from this toll gate will later be redirected to Banyudono Toll Road. The decision to close Colomadu Toll Gate is certainly not without reason as it has been carefully considered. The location of Banyudono Toll Gate is also not too far from Colomadu Toll Gate, as it is approximately two kilometers away.

As is known, the closure of Colomadu Toll Road is intentionally halted because the Jogja-Solo Toll Road Section 1 Kartasura-Klaten has been inaugurated. The transfer from Colomadu Toll Road to Banyudono Toll Road is considered more efficient and beneficial for many parties, both the managers and the toll road users.

So what about the toll road tariff? Is there any change in the tariff or not? According to PT. JSN, there will be no change in tariffs even though there is a change in the transaction location, so toll road users need not worry. For example, toll road users with category I vehicles traveling from Surabaya to Kartasura using Banyudono Toll Road will be charged a fee of Rp322,000.

This also applies conversely, for toll road users traveling from Kartasura to Surabaya, they only need to tap at the same toll gate, making the transaction process more efficient.

Impact of the Transfer of Colomadu Toll Road

Here are the impacts resulting from the transfer of Colomadu Toll Gate to Banyudono Toll Gate.

1. Better integration between toll road segments

The first impact can be seen from the transfer of Colomadu Toll Road, where the integration between toll road segments becomes better. This occurs because users of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road, Jogja-Solo, and Solo-Ngawi do not need to undergo repeated transaction processes at several toll gates.

2. Reducing congestion in the Kartasura area

The second impact is that congestion in the Kartasura area can be reduced because congestion is usually caused by queues during transactions at Colomadu Toll Gate, which can be alleviated. This will also improve travel time efficiency.

3. Easier access to tourist destinations

The third impact is that access to natural tourist destinations in Klaten, Ratu Boko, and Prambanan Temple becomes easier as the integration process becomes smoother and avoids congestion.

4. Boosting regional economic growth

The transfer of Colomadu Toll Gate also has a significant impact on regional economic growth. Communities around the toll road area can distribute goods more quickly, and the mobility of the population becomes more efficient.

Thus, the information regarding the closure of Colomadu Toll Gate. If you intend to visit tourist destinations in Klaten, Prambanan Temple, and others using Banyudono Toll Gate, it is advisable to service your vehicle first at Daihatsu official workshop before traveling.
