Old Cars and Symptoms
This issue is generally experienced by cars that have been in operation for quite a long time, especially vehicles from older years. It can be said that Daihatsu vehicles over 5 years old should pay attention to this part.
Not to mention that the mixture of imitation rubber and steel cord is positioned in an open area. The cause is often exposed to dirt and rainwater from under the engine, making the belt easily squeak due to starting to wear down and become stiff.
One sign of declining performance of the device that functions to rotate the oil pump to the alternator is not optimal. The rubber part cannot rotate the pulley perfectly or slips. This slipping symptom is the source of the noise. Moreover, the pulley becomes dry due to being worn by dirt, making it no longer precise.
