For car owners, the speedometer panel is certainly familiar. On that panel, there is a battery light which serves as an indicator of the car's electrical charging. If the indicator light is on, it can be assured that there is something wrong with the charging system. Recognize the causes and how to address the battery indicator light that you must know below! 

Causes of the Battery Indicator Light Being On

There are several causes that can make the battery indicator light turn on the speedometer panel. The causes are as follows:

• The cause when the battery indicator light is on while the engine is running is due to a electrical problem, possibly in the electrical charging section or it could also be that the battery is not charging.

Normally, the battery indicator light will turn off when the engine starts to rev. This indicates that the charging system, or alternator, has produced electrical charge used to recharge the car battery. 

• The next cause of the indicator light being on could be a loose alternator socket or the carbon brush has worn out or is depleted. As a result, the alternator cannot produce electricity.
• In addition, the condition of the battery being on can also be caused by a soaked accumulator.

How to Address the Battery Indicator Light Being On

• Check the condition of the carbon brush inside the alternator; if this component is depleted, you need to replace it with a new one. Make repairs immediately to avoid damaging the car battery.
• If the accumulator is the cause, preventing optimal charging, then you need to replace the accumulator component with a new one if it is indeed soaked.
• Meanwhile, addressing the battery indicator light being on is also related to the condition of the battery itself. You need to perform regular checks on the car battery, as this component is considered fast moving.

In other words, the battery is a component that can wear out, and if it can no longer function optimally, it must be maintained or replaced with a new battery.

To keep your car battery in prime condition, there are several ways you can do. Among them is to routinely check the battery fluid volume. 

Do not let the battery fluid run out; refill it immediately if it appears to be low. For cars that are not used, it is advisable to warm them up every 7 to 10 days.

You can use it to drive around the housing complex, and so on. Because a car that is not used can lose about 3 percent of its battery power every day, you must regularly warm up the car. 

This is also a way to prevent battery damage and maintain the condition of the car battery properly. Most new cars are indeed controlled through the ECU or electronic control unit.
