Is there an LCGC car for long distances?

LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) is the term for a variant of cars that emerged after automotive regulations in the country, prioritizing fuel efficiency and affordable prices. These factors have made various LCGC car brands very popular in the Indonesian automotive market. 

However, there is one thing that is often questioned by the public, which is whether LCGC cars are safe for long-distance travel? Especially since this car falls into the city car category, which is suitable for short distances, thus its capability is often doubted.

LCGC Car Maintenance

Known as cheap and environmentally friendly cars, it does not mean that LCGC cars do not have weaknesses. On average, LCGC cars are equipped with small displacement engines, with a maximum of only 1,200 cc. 

With this condition, the distance between the components inside is getting closer and tighter, including the cooling channel holes and lubrication system, so the engine will heat up faster if driven continuously, especially in traffic jams.

In simple terms, if the engine works harder than usual, in this case, traveling long distances, it can increase the risk of the engine wearing out quickly and overheating. That is why there is another notion that if traveling long distances with an LCGC car, the car should be frequently rested, is it necessary? 

The point is, as long as the car engine is healthy and in prime condition, LCGC cars are quite durable for long distances. It depends on how the driver performs three things: preparation, reaction (knowing what to do, including the condition of the car and the road), and anticipation (steps taken when seeing a situation). 

The stamina of the driver is also a determining factor in long-distance driving safety. Do not force it if you are already sleepy or tired; it is better to rest after 3 hours of driving than to endanger yourself and others. 

LCGC is Tough for Long-Distance Travel
