JAKARTA, MARCH 2025, There is good news for Daihatsu friends living in West Java. This is because there is a motor vehicle tax amnesty here.

The West Java Provincial Government has eliminated all outstanding motor vehicle taxes for those who have not fulfilled their obligations to date. This policy applies to both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.

This program provides relief by waiving the principal arrears and fines for motor vehicle taxes for individuals and businesses that own or control vehicles within the jurisdiction of the West Java Police and Metro Jaya Police. 

Time Period

This policy applies to tax arrears for vehicles up to the year 2024, without any limitation on the number of years. The public is given the opportunity to extend the validity period of their vehicle tax from March 20 to June 6, 2025, by simply paying the current year's tax without having to settle past arrears.

"We from the West Java Provincial Government provide amnesty for all outstanding motor vehicle taxes, but after Eid, we hope the public will extend it," said Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java.

Purpose of Tax Amnesty

This policy aims to increase public compliance in paying taxes and improve vehicle ownership data.

This program is also supported by various digital services, such as E-Samsat, the Sambara application through Jabar Apps Sapawarga, as well as mobile Samsat services, village Samsat, Leuwipanjang digital Samsat, outlet Samsat, gendong Samsat, drive-thru Samsat, and BUMDes.

“Through this policy, we hope the public will be more compliant in paying taxes, so there will be no more vehicles with outstanding tax status," said Dedi Taufik, Head of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of West Java.

Free Name Transfer 

In addition, individuals who own vehicles registered under someone else's name are urged to promptly process the vehicle name transfer fee (BBNKB), which is now free of charge. However, fees for TNKB, STNK, and BPKB will still be charged according to applicable regulations.
