Which Region Uses Plate E?
For those of you who often visit the West Java Province area, you are certainly familiar with vehicles with plate E. Plate E is used in several areas such as Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan. For more information, see below:
1. Cirebon Region
In the Cirebon area, both the city and the regency use the letter code “E” as the initial code for vehicle registration plates. Meanwhile, the suffix uses different endings. The letter codes “A/B/C/D/E/F/G” are for Cirebon City, and the letter codes “H/I/J/K/L/M/N/O” are for Cirebon Regency. Example: E 1111 EA.
2. Indramayu Regency
The front code of the registration plate starts with the letter E and ends with the letters P/Q/R/S/T. Example: E 1111 TS.
3. Majalengka Regency
Majalengka Regency also uses the letter E as the front code of the plate. For the end code, it uses the letters U/V/W/X. Example: E 1111 UV.
4. Kuningan Regency
Kuningan Regency also uses the letter E as the front code of the plate. For the end code, it uses the letters Y/Z. E 1111 YZ.

Quick Way to Check the Origin of Plate E
To quickly find out where plate E comes from, you can use the USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) service. Just type *368# on your phone menu and then press enter. Next, your phone screen will display the following menu.
- Vehicle Info
- Vehicle Tax Info
- Tax Reminder
- SIMLING Info
- SAMLINGLING Info, or SAMLING Info.
Then, press number “1” to find out information about motor vehicles.
How to Check Vehicle Tax for Plate E
There are several ways you need to know when you want to check vehicles with plate E. Here are the complete methods.
1. Check via USSD
Here’s how.
- Type *368# in the phone menu.
- Then press enter to call.
- Next, a menu will appear as explained above.
- Select menu number 2 to find out the status and amount of vehicle tax.
2. Check via SMS
Here’s how.
- Open the SMS service menu. Make sure you have enough SMS credit.
- Type an SMS in the format “esamsat” (space) vehicle plate number (space) NIK, then send it to the number 0811-211-9211. Example: esamsat_E 1111 UV_ 3215250000000000.
3. Check via the West Java Samsat website (SAMBARA) or the West Java Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda)
Here’s how.
- Visit the official West Java Samsat website https://sambara.puslia.jabarprov.go.id/sambara_v2 or https://sambara.bapenda.jabarprov.go.id/sambara_lite_plopd/
- Then enter the data according to the form fields displayed on the website. Starting from the vehicle registration number (license plate), TNKB color, and captcha.
- Then press the “Search” button, and complete information about the vehicle identity, along with the bill, will appear automatically.
4. Check via the Sambara application
In addition to the website, West Java Samsat has also provided a special application to check information about vehicles, vehicle taxes, and vehicle processing. To check vehicle tax, you need to pay attention to the following steps.
- Download the Sambara application on your phone, then install it.
- Register for a Sambara account.
- Log in to the Sambara application and select the “PKB Info” menu.
- Enter the vehicle registration plate, and click the “Search” button.
- Click the “Continue Online Registration” button, then fill in the vehicle owner's ID number, the last five digits, and the chassis number.
- Click the “Process” button, and information about the vehicle data and tax will appear.
