Rangkaian Sistem Starter Mobil, Fungsi, Cara Kerja dan Jenisnya

The car starter system circuit is a circuit created by car manufacturers to facilitate users when starting the engine. This system circuit has a very vital function in the car. Therefore, understanding the function, how it works, and the types of this system circuit is very necessary. To help you understand this circuit more deeply, let's directly look at the discussion below.

What Is the Car Starter System Circuit?

As explained above, the starter system circuit in a car is a circuit designed to facilitate the process of starting the car. This circuit consists of several starter components such as the car battery, cables, fuse, starter switch, starter relay, starter motor, ignition switch, starter clutch, armature coil, commutator, and pinion gear.

Function of the Car Starter System Circuit

The starter system circuit in this car has a very important function in the car's operation. Because, it is impossible for the car to start if this circuit has problems since this system circuit functions to start or turn on the car engine.

How the Car Starter System Circuit Works

The operation of the starter system circuit in a car begins when you insert the ignition key (ignition switch). Then turn the ignition key from the off position to start. In this condition, the electric current from the battery will flow to the starter relay and fuse to be forwarded to terminal S.

Next, the electrical energy from terminal S will be converted into mechanical energy through a conversion process and the rotation of the coil. In this process, the core of the starter system will rotate and cause the magnetic switch to be in the on (ON) state. The magnetic switch will then channel a large amount of electric current from the battery to the large cable to reach terminal B.

At the same time, the gear is pushed by the magnetic switch to connect with the flywheel. Meanwhile, terminal B, which receives an electric current supply according to the needs, will channel electricity to terminal M. Thus, the starter components will rotate so that the gear can also rotate.

Types of Car Starter System Circuits

After you understand how the starter system circuit works in a car, you need to know the types of this system circuit as follows.

1. Starter System Circuit with Relay

In this type, the starter system circuit begins to work when the ignition switch is turned to the start position. In this condition, the electric current from the battery will flow through the contact to the fuse and terminal 85 of the relay. Next, it will be forwarded to the ground through terminal 86. This causes the electric current to flow to the magnetic coil in the relay, generating magnetic power that connects terminal 30 with terminal 87.

2. Starter System Circuit without Relay

In this type, the electric current will flow to the ignition switch and fuse through the battery to reach terminal 50 of the starter solenoid. Then, the solenoid will switch to the ON position so that terminal 30 of the starter motor can connect with the armature. Thus, the armature can rotate faster because the coil is supplied with electric current from the battery.

This is a complete review of the car starter system circuit that you need to know. Given the vital function of the starter system circuit, you certainly need to pay attention to the condition of each component within it. To ensure that the starter system in your car functions properly, make sure to perform routine and periodic maintenance at the nearest Daihatsu workshop
