For those who often or have ever crossed the Trans-Java toll road, you may be familiar with the Banjaratma Rest Area. This place is known as a very interesting rest area because it is different from other rest stops.
At least in the Brebes area, there are two rest stops that can be visited, namely KM 255A and also KM 260B or Banjaratma. Initially, the area was a sugar factory and is now used as a rest area for drivers with very complete facilities.
Facilities at Banjaratma Rest Area
One of the reasons why Banjaratma Rest Area is so famous is the abundance of facilities within it. Here are some of those facilities.
1. Interesting photo spots
As mentioned at the beginning, this place used to be the Banjaratma Sugar Factory and is no longer in use. Instead of being left abandoned, the place has been transformed into a cultural heritage building.
Therefore, when you visit, you will be presented with a building with a classic concept as its shape has been preserved. The sugar factory, established in 1908, has also become a favorite photo object for visitors.
Inside, visitors can find several items typical of the old days such as a crazy wheel machine, a money-making room, a furnace, and many more. Although the classic atmosphere with buildings preserved from the past, there is no scary impression inside. So, you don't need to worry about mystical things when visiting.

2. Fuel filling station
At this rest area, you can also use the Public Fuel Filling Station or SPBU located next to the parking area. Of course, this is very helpful, especially for drivers on long journeys who are afraid of running out of fuel.
The SPBU is also equipped with ten filling stations for several types of fuel. Thus, visitors do not need to queue too long even when there are many vehicles inside.
In addition, there are also other equally interesting facilities, namely food tenants. You can enjoy various snacks, heavy meals, or a variety of drinks at affordable prices. The presence of tables and chairs adds to the comfort while enjoying the snacks.
3. Green park
Traveling along the toll road may make drivers feel bored or tired. If that happens, it wouldn't hurt to stop for a moment at this rest area because there is a green park facility inside.
By taking a moment to look at the green plants, your eyes will rest and your mind can refresh again. Not only that, but children also seem to enjoy it because there is a mini zoo containing various animals such as birds, rabbits, fish, and others.
While waiting for your energy to recover to continue the journey, you can also educate your children about those animals here. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Banjaratma has become a favorite rest stop for drivers.
4. Mosque with red brick ornaments
Places of worship or prayer rooms may commonly be found in various rest areas. However, it is different if you visit this place. Visitors can see a mosque adorned with red brick ornaments.
These ornaments give a classic impression and are also suitable as a photo spot. The atmosphere inside is quite cool even though there is no air conditioning inside. This is because the building's ventilation has been specially designed to have many gaps for air circulation.
