It turns out, here are 4 causes of car dusk lights not working

When the sky turns orange, every car driver is required to turn on the dusk lights as their lighting. In addition to functioning as a light source, the light produced can also serve as a communication tool between drivers. 

But what if the light does not turn on?  Let's find out what causes the car's dusk lights to fail. 

1. Check Visually 

The lighting not turning on when the sky starts to darken can make drivers flustered and panicked. Besides the limited visibility, this condition is certainly dangerous for themselves and other drivers. 

To determine the main cause of the sudden failure of the lighting, you can first check its visual condition when the lights are on.

If only one light is on, please check that light by accessing it from the back. What if both lights suddenly go completely out?

Don't panic just yet, as you need to turn on the dusk lights again while observing the indicator lights on the dashboard.

In this condition, the cause of the car's dusk lights failing may be due to a burnt-out bulb or even a melted light reflector due to heat. 

This can happen when the use of the lights is not appropriate, so buying a new bulb is the best solution to resolve the issue. 

2. Check the Connecting Wires

What if the condition of the lights is still good? You can check the connecting wires located in the fuse box first. After obtaining the relay from the lighting, please remove the relay along with the jumper terminals 30 and 87. 

By doing this, the dusk lights may turn back on as before. But what if the lighting still does not turn on as expected?

No need to panic, as you should check the voltage at the dusk light socket with the help of a test lamp. Through this method, you can find out the cause of the car's dusk lights suddenly failing to operate.

3. Check the Switch 

Did you know that the switch located at the back of the vehicle's steering wheel is one of the main causes of why the dusk lights go completely out? 

To ensure whether the main cause is the car switch, please check with the help of a test lamp. Match it to terminals 85 and 86 on the dusk light socket. 

In the next step, please turn the lighting back on to see if it is the main cause. If the test lamp lights up, it can be confirmed that the switch is not the source of the problem. If that is the case, you need to look for other reasons why the lighting cannot turn on. 

4. Check the Relay 

If the previous methods are not the main cause, please check all relays that can be found in the vehicle's fuse box. The checking method is quite easy, where you can rely on the test lamp on terminals 30 and 87, as well as on currents 85 and 86. 

This is because there is a possibility that the relay is the source of the cause of the car's dusk lights failing that you have been looking for. 

Having an important role, it will certainly be troublesome when the vehicle's dusk lights suddenly cannot turn on at crucial moments. Before fixing it, it would be better if you know the main cause of the damage to the lights. By knowing the cause, the vehicle component can receive the appropriate handling.
