Let's Find Out How to Clean the Car AC Evaporator

In the present time, car air conditioning is a component that must be installed. Especially with the increasingly hot weather in Indonesia, car air conditioning is definitely needed. Car air conditioning, as an important item in a car, has various important components within it. One of the most important components in the air conditioning system is the evaporator. The evaporator is the air conditioning component that functions to blow cold air into the car cabin. It is the evaporator that allows you to enjoy the cool air inside your car.
The shape of the evaporator is box-like and has cavities that are winding, which causes dirt to accumulate on that part. Dirt that accumulates on the evaporator will clog and hinder the performance of the air conditioning. As a result, the air conditioning cannot work optimally and the airflow that comes out is not maximal. Therefore, you must clean the air conditioning evaporator regularly. Let's find out how to clean the car air conditioning evaporator by following the discussion below.
Here’s How to Clean the Car Air Conditioning Evaporator
1. Turn Off the Car Engine and Prepare the Cleaner
Before you clean your car's air conditioning evaporator, make sure that the car is turned off. This is because cleaning the car's air conditioning evaporator requires disassembling some parts of the engine, and this must be done while the car is off.
2. Learn the Location of the Evaporator
The next thing you need to know is the location of your car's evaporator. The location of the car evaporator is generally under the car's dashboard, but it all depends on the type and brand of the car. Sometimes, some car brands place their evaporators in other locations. If you have difficulty finding the location of the evaporator, you can refer back to your car's owner's manual, as it usually contains instructions regarding several car components, including the location of your car's air conditioning evaporator.
3. Open the Evaporator or AC Filter
After finding the location of the evaporator, you can open the AC filter by reading the instructions in the manual. If you see that the AC filter is dirty, you can clean it. If the dirt is stubborn, it is recommended that you replace it with a new filter. This will make the air conditioning work more optimally, and the results will be better; the AC will become cooler like new. For light dirt, you can simply clean the AC filter using a brush or an unused toothbrush. Clean carefully and slowly to avoid damaging other AC components.
4. Start the Car Engine
After doing the above steps, you can start your car's engine. When the car engine is on, also turn on the AC at the highest temperature and the highest blower speed. This is done to check whether the blower is working optimally or not.
5. Spray the Cleaning Liquid
Spray the prepared cleaning liquid onto the blower, then this liquid will create foam. Let the foam continue until it releases water from the AC ventilator holes. After that, leave the car for 15 minutes, then clean the water that is in the ventilator holes.
Well, those are the things you can do to clean your car's air conditioning evaporator. After you follow the steps mentioned above, your car's air conditioning will definitely be cool again like new. Don't be lazy to take care of your beloved car, especially since the AC is an important part when driving.
