When applying for a driver's license (SIM A), the stage of the exam that most often fails is the practical test. In this testing phase, prospective drivers must demonstrate their ability to drive a four-wheeled vehicle according to the required standards. Many people even intentionally take driving courses to practice the material for the SIM A practical test.

The SIM A practical test is one of the stages in the process of obtaining a four-wheeled vehicle driver's license. Now, perhaps you need to know in advance the skills that will be tested during the SIM A practical test. Let's take a look at the 9 types of SIM A practical tests that need to be practiced until proficient.

Individual SIM A Practical Test

For those who want to obtain an individual SIM A, prepare yourself to use a manual car. If you want to succeed, the car must not stall more than three times during the SIM A test. Now, here are the test materials that will be assessed from prospective drivers.

Driving Straight

This part of the test may be the easiest to perform. However, don't get too excited, the straight driving test will not only be in one forward direction but also in reverse. The driving test does not have to be done at high speed. As long as the steering and speed can be controlled, this test stage can be passed.

Driving in a Zig-Zag Pattern

Now, prospective drivers must also be able to control vehicle maneuvers. Maneuvering a car will be easier when using a vehicle with light control and a short wheelbase. The more you practice, the better your maneuvering skills will become.

Parking the Car in Series in Reverse Position

Parking in series may be relatively easier, as the car only needs to be controlled within the specified limits. However, the test will also apply to series parking in reverse position. So, make sure the car control remains stable and the engine does not stall!

Parallel Parking

The next challenge to be tested is parallel parking. There will usually be boundary lines to park the car in parallel. As much as possible, avoid touching the predetermined boundaries. Utilize the mirror function for perfect control.

Stopping on an Incline

The car must not roll back when on an incline. There are several ways to control the car on an incline. Usually, the car engine easily stalls if the clutch and brake control are not synchronized. However, this can also be practiced so that the car remains balanced and the engine stays on.

General SIM A Practical Test

For prospective public vehicle drivers, there is a stage of the SIM A practical test that will be given. This test phase is not conducted using a car, but rather a simulator. However, the difference lies only in the road situations that appear on the screen with the following test materials.

Traffic Light Reaction Test

The driver's reaction will be observed when seeing traffic light signals, and the control of the car will be monitored starting from the red, yellow, and green lights.

Sign Anticipation Test

The situation to be tested in this simulation is the road limit, especially to assess the ability to turn on the dim lights and turn signals when seeing the road boundary line.

Concentration Test While Steering

During this test, prospective drivers must be able to control the steering with a balanced position on the right and left side of the road. The simulation will appear as a black line that must not collide with the red boundary line. If it collides more than four times, the test will be declared failed.

Combination of Reaction, Anticipation, and Concentration Tests

Now, the three tests that have been conducted one by one will also be tested simultaneously. Prospective drivers must be able to control the car to react when overtaking vehicles, navigating through zig-zag paths, and so on.

These are some types of tests that will appear in the SIM A practical exam. Practice in a safe area and repeat to become more skilled. Good luck!
