Do These 5 Things When You Start Losing Focus at Work

Losing focus while working is indeed a common occurrence. There are several factors that trigger why our concentration can fade, such as fatigue, drowsiness, hunger, and excessive use of social media, which ultimately reduces our work productivity. 

It turns out that when concentration is lost, everyone needs about 25 minutes to regain focus on what they are doing. Not efficient, right? This can certainly be very disruptive, especially when we have a lot of work to do. 
But you can outsmart this so that it doesn't happen again with these tricks, and you can remain productive and focused during work hours. 

Put on Headphones and Listen to Classical Music

When you realize that you are starting to lose focus on your work, try grabbing your headphones and start listening to classical music. A research study has proven that classical music can make it easier for someone to absorb information and help them relax, and both of these conditions can certainly help you focus and increase productivity. 
But if you don't like classical music, then other soft-toned music can also be an option.   

Make Sure Your Workspace is Clean Before Starting Work

Before starting work in the morning, make sure that your workspace is clean and tidy. A dirty and cluttered workspace will affect your mood and focus throughout the day. In addition, a clean and tidy workspace will also benefit your health and eyesight. Even if necessary, personalize your workspace according to your taste.

Set Today's Work Goals and Prepare a Clear Deadline

Clear goals are one of the important things that can keep us focused in life. Not much different from work, you should also set deadlines and what tasks need to be completed today by making a to-do list or small notes on your computer. By creating such a to-do list, it will greatly help you refocus on your work. 

Don't Force Yourself, Take a Break If You're Drowsy

Sitting in front of the computer for too long can make you bored and drowsy, so when that drowsiness hits, it's best to take a short break or close your eyes at your desk to refresh your mind and regain concentration. Because we cannot force a sleepy body to think well, as the results will clearly not be optimal. 

Eat on Time and Don't Let Your Stomach Growl

An empty stomach is also one of the causes of someone not being able to focus. So never let your stomach growl, especially while working. You should start your day with a nutritious breakfast and have lunch on time, and if necessary, prepare healthy snacks to accompany you in meeting today's work deadlines. And equally important is to remember to drink plenty of water, especially if you are working all day in front of a monitor.
