Hill Start Assist

Hill Start Assist or HSA can be found in almost all new cars. This anti-rollback feature falls under the category of safety and security features that protect you while driving on uphill and downhill roads.

Hill Start Assist

This description will clearly discuss the HSA feature along with its benefits and functions. Please follow the explanation below.

Understanding Hill Start Assist and Its Functions

Hill Start Assist (HSA) is also known as hill holder or hill hold control. HSA is a feature that was originally only available in expensive cars. However, that is no longer the case.

Recently, HSA, which is a feature of safety and comfort, can be found in almost every car. This is because this feature plays a very important role, making it available even in lower-class cars.

This makes these lower-class cars more quality and ensures safety, security, and comfort. You can find this feature especially in the latest cars priced around two hundred million.

You need to know that HSA is a control feature that is a form of assistance technology in a car. This feature works to hold the car when it is on an incline.

With HSA control, it can help prevent the car from rolling backward. It does this by holding the brake position for a few seconds while you switch between the brake and accelerator pedals.

Not only that, some types of HSA can also prevent your vehicle from rolling forward when going downhill. So what are the actual functions and benefits of this feature? Keep following the review below.

Functions of the Hill Start Assist Feature in a Car

You should not doubt that HSA is a very beneficial feature in a car. HSA has the function and ability to detect uphill roads. With its sensors, HSA knows the direction of the wheel rotation even if it is very slow.

Therefore, with this technology, you no longer need to worry when going up or down a slope. Why? Because HSA technology allows your car not to roll backward for 2 to 5 seconds on every incline.

How HSA Feature Works

As explained regarding the function of the HSA feature, this feature works by using sensors to detect inclines.

It uses a computer system that keeps the brakes active even if you are not pressing the brake pedal.

In other words, HSA will activate the brakes when you are about to switch to pressing the gas pedal to increase the car's power. Thus, you do not need to activate the handbrake when on an incline.

This condition will allow you to focus on holding the steering wheel while managing the direction and speed of the car. Next, HSA will automatically stop when you press the brake or gas pedal again.

You should also know that HSA does not increase the car's traction. This feature only prevents your car from rolling back. So how can you use this feature?

You just need to drive as usual. When you reach a point where you must stop, hold the brake, then when you are about to go uphill again, release the brake and press the gas pedal.

During the transition of releasing the brake and pressing the gas, your car will not roll back but will remain stopped for a few seconds. That is the sophisticated working mechanism of this HSA feature.

The Hill Start Assist feature is also available in Daihatsu cars, one of which is the Daihatsu Terios. Therefore, if you want to get more complete information, please visit Daihatsu.co.id.
