1. Ensure the Cause of the Car Stalling

The first thing to do is to ensure the reason the car is stalling, whether it is because the battery has drained or something else. 

A stalled vehicle usually does not only occur due to a drained battery, and sometimes the issues can differ between one car unit and another. To ensure this, there is an easy way you can do.

First, turn on the lights of the stalled car. If the light produced by the lamp is still bright enough, it means the battery is still in good condition. 

However, if the light produced has dimmed compared to usual, it can be confirmed that the car is stalling and cannot be started because the battery has drained.

2. Prepare Jumper Cables and Another Car Battery

After confirming the cause, the next step in jump-starting a car battery is to prepare high-quality jumper cables. To get such cables, try visiting the nearest workshop or official service center that sells such cables. Good cables have a minimum diameter size of 10 millimeters.

Not only cables, but you also need to prepare another four-wheeled vehicle or a good battery. This is to assist you when jump-starting your beloved vehicle. 

You don’t need to buy a new battery; you can still use a battery from another car that is still in good condition.

3. Connect the Two Battery Terminals with Jumper Cables

Once all the equipment is fully prepared, the next step is to bring the car or battery close to the stalled vehicle. Make sure the engine bays of both vehicles are facing each other. 

This method of jump-starting a car battery must be done to make it easier to connect the two terminals, as the cables available in the market are not very long.

Then start connecting the terminals of the batteries using the jumper cables. When installing them, make sure you always wear gloves as an insulator to avoid sparks. 

Also, ensure that you connect the positive terminals of each battery using the jumper cable marked with red.

Meanwhile, the negative terminal jumper cable is usually marked with black. Don’t forget to ensure that the clamps on each terminal are tight. 

Once everything is perfectly connected, wait a moment for the results to be more optimal. The last step in jump-starting a car battery is to start the engine of the stalled vehicle.
