Therefore, the installation of window film on pickup trucks must comply with the ministerial regulations outlined in the Minister of Transportation Decree Number KM.439/U/Phb-76. The complete rules are as follows.

1. The installed window film must meet the required specifications

For motor vehicles equipped with front, rear, or side windows. The glass used must meet the following requirements.

The glass must be made from materials that are not easily breakable.
The glass must not be two-way transparent.
It must not alter the glass in a way that distorts the shape of people or objects seen through the glass.

Technically, the installation of window film must also meet the requirements set forth in Government Regulation Number 55 of 2012. The requirements are as follows.

The glass used must be scratch-resistant.
The glass used must be clear and not easily fade.
The glass used must not pose a danger if broken.
The glass used must not obstruct the driver's vision (line of sight).

2. The window film used must allow 70% light transmission

The window film (film coating) installed on pickup trucks must have a minimum light transmission of 70%. However, for the front and rear windows, materials that allow a minimum of 40% light transmission may be used. This light transmission must hit the upper side of the glass and not exceed one-third of the height of the glass.

3. The window film used must not cause reflections

The window film on pickup trucks is recommended to be made from materials that do not create new light reflections. The reflections allowed are those similar to those produced by clear glass.

4. It is prohibited to place or stick anything on the window film

Pickup truck owners are prohibited from placing any objects or sticking anything on the window film. For example, sticking stickers. If you are required to stick a sticker for government purposes, it is advisable that the sticker does not obstruct the line of sight while driving the vehicle. This applies to the front, rear, or side windows.
