The development of increasingly sophisticated technology has caused motor vehicle manufacturers to continuously innovate to keep up with the times.

Various features attached to vehicles are always experiencing improvements, one of which is in the braking sector.

Now brakes are equipped with various capabilities such as ABS, so what is the difference between ABS and Non-ABS? Let's take a look at the discussion.

Differences Between ABS and Non-ABS Brakes

Between ABS brake components and non-ABS or CBS (Combi Brake System), both are essentially elements that support the braking process more optimally.

However, as time has progressed, brakes with the CBS system have become less effective. Thus, vehicle manufacturers prefer to use ABS to support their vehicles.

The braking system of the Anti-lock Braking System or ABS has many advantages. Generally, the braking system applied to every motor vehicle consists of two types, namely structured and sudden braking.

Brake components that have adopted the ABS system are claimed to be more stable in both braking cases. Essentially, the difference between ABS and non-ABS lies in their working systems, where ABS will prevent the vehicle's wheels from locking due to hard braking. This minimizes occurrences such as loss of balance and tire slipping.

Moreover, brakes with ABS technology are much more effective on inclines and slippery roads. It is no wonder that motor vehicles equipped with the ABS system are priced significantly higher than non-ABS ones.

This is primarily because the ABS working system involves several sensors on each wheel. These sensors are interconnected to the ECU or Electronic Controller Unit, which is responsible for regulating the brake pressure on each tire.

The brake calipers in the ABS system are not fully engaged at once, but are pushed and released quickly. In one second, the difference between ABS and non-ABS can be seen from the ABS brake calipers being pressed and released about 60 times.

The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will automatically release the fluid pressure (brake fluid) which causes the piston to retract. Although considered advanced, the ABS system adopted by some vehicles does not require special maintenance but only needs attention like any regular vehicle.

However, for sport vehicles, cubs, and other types of motorcycles using chains, there are times when adjustments are needed when the sensor chain shifts from its original position.

Not only that, vehicles that adopt the ABS system will have far superior performance compared to non-ABS ones.

Although the difference between ABS and non-ABS utilizes the same technology, namely the Bluecore engine with a capacity of 155cc, the performance displayed between the two has differences.

You can prove it yourself by riding one of the ABS vehicles. With that engine, ABS vehicles are believed to deliver significant power.

Since its first launch on two-wheeled vehicles, the ABS and non-ABS systems have always undergone improvements. In fact, many people are now starting to be interested in using ABS-type vehicles, considering the advanced technology that can provide safety and security for riders.
