Manual car drivers are certainly familiar with the clutch, which plays a role in controlling gear transmission shifts while driving. Its role as a friction barrier between the transmission and the engine will gradually change. To make driving comfortable again, here are the correct ways to adjust the car's clutch. 

Adjusting the Clutch Pedal Height

The height of the clutch pedal is the distance measured from the position of the pedal tip to the vehicle floor. However, it should be noted that the height of each clutch pedal for each car is certainly different, so you cannot generalize it. 

To make it easier, please follow the adjustment size recommendations written in the vehicle repair manual. 

But what if you are a layperson in the automotive field and do not understand how to adjust the car's clutch even after reading the manual? 

In such a condition, please match the height with the brake pedal to serve as a reference. It is hoped that having a reference will make it easier for you in the adjustment process. 

First, understand the location of each component and please turn the locking nut to the left until it is loose and easy to turn. Then turn the height adjustment screw to the left if you want to raise the height of the clutch pedal, as part of the correct way to adjust the car's clutch. 

Meanwhile, the screw that is turned to the right is specifically for lowering the pedal height. After knowing how to adjust it, please adjust it according to your needs to facilitate the adjustment. 

If the pedal height feels right, turn the nut back so that the locking screw does not come loose or loosened. 

Adjusting the Free Play Distance on the Clutch Pedal 

After adjusting the clutch pedal height according to your needs, it is now time to adjust the free play distance on the clutch pedal. This is done to prevent the clutch from always sticking to the Fly Wheel as it can cause the clutch lining to wear out quickly. 

Generally, the free play distance on the clutch pedal ranges from 1.5 cm to 3 cm. Although it is usually within that range, it is best to confirm it again by reading the manual to see the recommendations provided by the manufacturer. 

Before starting the correct way to adjust the car's clutch, it is advisable to understand that the free distance of the clutch pedal consists of 2 models, which are hydraulic and mechanical types. 

To facilitate the adjustment, let's start with the hydraulic model first. First, pay attention to the position and place of the free play adjustment. 

The next step, you can use an 8 or 10 size wrench to help loosen the locking nut. If it feels loose enough, please use pliers or similar tools to turn the hydraulic push rod on the clutch.

Adjust the free play distance according to the given size, then tighten the nut while holding the hydraulic rod. 

The way to adjust the free play distance for the mechanical model can use a 10 or 12 size wrench to loosen the nut. Turn to the right to tighten, while the left direction is to loosen the nut. 

Adjust the free play according to the recommendations provided, and ensure the locking nut is in the correct position before using the self lock system.
