New Electronic Vehicle Registration Certificate Effective March 2025
Jakarta, February 2025, There is new information for Daihatsu friends. The electronic Motor Vehicle Ownership Book (BPKB) is starting to be introduced in Indonesia.
This is because the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police will issue electronic BPKB. Physically, the electronic BPKB is smaller than the previous form. Officially, this electronic BPKB will be valid starting March 2025.

It looks like an e-passport equipped with a chip. The electronic BPKB is also ensured to be more secure regarding the validity of identity data, as well as preventing counterfeiting attempts.
“The advantage of the electronic BPKB is that the data can be viewed and checked directly through the application available on Android or via IOS,” said Commissioner General Sumardji, Head of the BPKB Sub-Directorate of the Korlantas National Police.
How much does it cost? The electronic BPKB is free of charge. The public just needs to download the application and the electronic BPKB will appear. Once downloaded, it can be used to capture data in the electronic BPKB.

Several Advantages of Electronic BPKB
- It makes it easier when the electronic BPKB is lost, as it can be easily reprinted. Thus, the data remains stored and is not difficult to recreate.
- In the long term, if all digital archives are available, they can be used for the mutation process. So there is no need to bring documents anymore.
- Using NFC technology, the security level is quite high and difficult to counterfeit. Thus, owners will find it easier to access data digitally.
