How to Safely and Practically Perform Car AC Freon Maintenance!

The comfort of driving a car usually increases with the presence of the car's air conditioning. However, the car's AC refrigerant can run out and needs to be refilled. You should know the proper way to refill the car's AC refrigerant so that you can replace the refrigerant yourself later.
How Car AC Refrigerant Works That You Need to Know
When you drive a car, it feels very stuffy if the AC inside is not turned on. Especially when you pass through a very congested route and are exposed to sunlight. This is where the important role of the car's AC is needed, as this component is responsible for cooling the air temperature inside the vehicle.
The role of refrigerant in a car's AC is indeed very important. Refrigerant is a liquid chemical compound that is usually used to absorb heat in a room. Thus, the air temperature in that room can be cooler and more comfortable.
Car AC refrigerant serves to cool the air temperature inside a vehicle, which is also referred to as refrigerant. Refrigerant has no specific smell or color, and will later be processed in gas form.
The performance of car AC refrigerant is to cool the air that enters the evaporator and the refrigerant section. After that, the car's compressor will blow that air back into the cabin, but at a lower and cooler temperature.
Without car refrigerant, you would have to frequently open the car windows. This can cause the interior of the four-wheeled vehicle to be exposed to dust and air pollution from outside the vehicle.
That is why you are advised to regularly refill the car's AC refrigerant so that the cooling system inside the vehicle can operate optimally.
How to Easily and Practically Maintain Car AC Refrigerant
If you are not familiar with car engine installations, make sure to take the car to a workshop. However, it is best if you know how to refill the car's AC refrigerant as described below. So you can handle emergencies with your damaged car AC refrigerant.
Here is an easy and practical way to refill car AC refrigerant:
1. Prepare the tools
In this next step, you need to prepare the tools needed to refill the car's AC refrigerant. For example, a manifold gauge, a special tool for measuring AC refrigerant pressure. Then perform a pressure measurement, ensuring it does not exceed 15-40 psi.
2. Empty the car's AC refrigerant
In the next step, make sure to close the valve on the refrigerant tank using the Manifold Gauge. The yellow hose is connected to the refrigerant tank, the blue hose to the low pressure port, and the red hose to the high pressure port.
Turn on the vacuum pump, then wait until the indicator shows 600 mmHg. This indicator will show that your car's cooling system is free of vapor.
3. Perform filling and checking
In the final step, make sure to fill the refrigerant in the available tank, wait until it is complete. While the refrigerant tank is being filled, keep the vacuum pump running continuously. Ensure that the number on the Manifold Gauge indicator screen is increasing or stable, not the opposite.
That is how to refill the car's AC refrigerant that you need to know. Easy and practical, right?
