Cara Melepas dan Memasang Aki Mobil yang Benar

The car battery is a vital component that affects the car's electrical system. This component serves as a power reserve and supplies electricity needs comprehensively. A depleted battery can affect the car's performance and even cause the engine to stall suddenly, so battery replacement must be taken seriously. Here are the correct ways to remove and reinstall a car battery.

How to Properly Remove a Car Battery

Although it seems easy, removing a battery cannot be done carelessly because battery acid can cause skin irritation. Here are the correct and easy steps to remove a battery:

1. Prepare Replacement Tools

The first step is to prepare the tools that will be used to remove or install the battery, such as pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and containers, to make the replacement process faster and more effective without unnecessary back and forth.

2. Turn Off the Car Engine

Before the battery removal process, it is advisable to turn off the car engine if it is still running, as it can cause a short circuit. Ensure the car engine is off.

3. Remove the Negative Terminal

Next, remove the negative terminal of the battery. Pay attention to the minus sign and the black color to avoid mistakes while removing.

4. Remove the Positive Terminal

Next, remove the positive terminal by paying attention to the plus sign or the red color. Carefully remove the cable, bolts, and clamps.

5. Remove the Bracket

The bracket is the connector between the car frame and the battery. Remove the bracket part using a 12 or 10 wrench.

6. Carefully Lift the Old or Damaged Battery

Next, carefully lift the old or damaged battery that will be replaced. Pay attention to the position of the battery when lifting it from the car frame. The position must be upright and not tilted to avoid spilling battery acid.

How to Properly Install a Battery

After knowing how to properly remove a battery, here are some safe ways to install a battery:

1. Ensure the battery is not tilted when installed

If you want to reinstall the old battery, you must clean the battery terminals to ensure there are no deposits on the terminals. After that, you can install it directly.

However, if you want to install a new battery, the first step you can take is to place the battery in the bracket in an upright position and not tilted, as it was before the battery removal process.

2. Connect the positive terminal cable first

Unlike the battery removal process, which requires removing the negative terminal to avoid short circuits, during installation, the positive terminal cable must be connected first to avoid sparks.

3. Connect the negative terminal cable

Next, connect the negative terminal cable. You do not need to worry if sparks occur during the installation of the negative terminal cable, as the sparks will stop once the battery head is properly installed.

4. Ensure all cables and clamps are securely attached

After following the steps above, ensure all cables and clamps are securely attached as they were before the battery removal process.

Check carefully whether they are installed correctly; if the cables are loose or not properly attached, fix them immediately so the car can start.

5. Start the car again

After the installation process is complete, try starting the car engine to see if the battery installation was successful.

However, if the engine does not start continuously even after repeated removal and installation, it is advisable to contact the nearest Daihatsu dealer to address your concerns.

That is how to safely and correctly remove and install a car battery. Hopefully, this helps. Don't forget to visit other interesting articles about automotive only on the Daihatsu.co.id website.
