How to Paint a Car for Beginners That Must Be Known
It is undeniable that the body paint of a four-wheeled vehicle will appear dull over time and with frequent use.
If you want your car's paint surface to shine like it used to, then there's nothing wrong with trying out painting techniques for beginners. Curious about the steps? Here’s the review.
1. Initial Stage Before Painting
If you are a beginner in car painting, do not rush to replace it immediately because there are several stages that need to be done first.
The first thing to do is to sand the specific areas to be painted evenly. It is recommended to use sandpaper with a size of 1500.
Next, wash the sanded area with clean water and dry it with a clean cloth. If necessary, leave the car under direct sunlight until it is completely dry.
After drying, prepare Epoxy or paint that can provide a very strong protective layer for your beloved vehicle.
The next step in painting a car for beginners is to spray Epoxy on the areas that have been planned for painting. Then sand the car's surface again using sandpaper sized 2000 evenly.
Wash the sanded part of the car again and dry it using a soft-textured cloth like cotton. If you want the painting results to look perfect, you should use white or gray to start the base painting.
When carrying out this painting process, try to do it in an open space, so that sunlight can shine directly on the car. However, you also need to avoid dust that can make the car's color look messy.
Once the base coat has been sprayed on all parts, wait for about two hours or until the base coat is dry.
Then sand it again to maximize the results. In this beginner's car painting method, you only need to sand lightly so that the base color of the paint becomes even across all parts.

2. Painting Stage
In this next stage, you need to mix the paint that has been prepared earlier with thinner. Remember, during the mixing, do not make it too thin or too thick.
If you are using thick paint, then mix the paint and thinner in a ratio of 1:2 where one liter is for paint and two liters for thinner.
Meanwhile, for thin paint, you only need to mix it in a 1:1 ratio between paint and thinner. This ratio is done to create a more attractive and beautiful color.
After mixing the paint and thinner, the painting process can begin. Then the paint that has been applied must be dried. After the paint dries, the last step in painting a car for beginners is the varnish stage.
If you have painted the car body according to the instructions above, do not forget to always maintain it to keep it shiny. This way, your beloved vehicle will look cooler and more charming.
If necessary, you can do coating so that the paint surface looks shinier for a longer period.
