1. Prepare the tools for filling out the form
Before filling out the STNK extension form, it is advisable to prepare a pen as a writing tool. This is because the STNK extension process involves manual form filling.
2. Prepare the STNK and BPKB
Next, you need to prepare the STNK so that you can easily copy the data from the STNK and BPKB onto the form.
3. Fill out the form according to the available format
Generally, the STNK extension form consists of five sections as follows.
- Registration number
- Vehicle identity
- First registration document
- Owner identity
- Type of application

- Fill in the “Vehicle Identity” section. In this section, there are data requirements that need to be filled out. Starting from the brand, type, category, model, year of purchase, cylinder capacity, frame number or NIK or VIN, engine number, vehicle color, fuel type, TNKB color, registration year, to the registration sequence number. Fill in the data according to the vehicle identity listed on your BPKB or previous STNK. - The next step is to fill in the “First Registration Document” section. This section must be filled out if you purchased a new vehicle from a dealer. However, if the vehicle is old, you can skip filling out this section.
- Next, fill in the owner identity section. In this section, there are two columns, namely the “Non-Personal Vehicle” column on the right and the “Personal Vehicle” column on the left. If you are extending for a personal vehicle, fill in the “Personal Vehicle” column. In this column, there is data regarding the owner's full name, owner's address, postal code, phone number, NPWP number, KTP/Kitas/Kitap number, to passport number.
- However, if you are extending the STNK for a vehicle from the company or institution you work for, you only need to fill in the available data in the “Non-Personal Vehicle” column and need to create a power of attorney for STNK extension.
- The last step is to fill in the “Type of Application” section. In this section, there are several columns starting from the “New/First”, “Change”, “Registration with Special Requirements”, to “Extension”. You select the “Extension” column, and in this column, there are two options. Option a contains annual STNK validation, and option b is for 5-year STNK extension. Choose the option according to your needs.
