The problem of damage to car coils can be caused by many factors. Although this damage often occurs, you actually need more knowledge about how to repair it. Each cause will be followed by specific ways to fix a damaged car coil. To avoid mishandling, consider the following review of 3 factors and methods. 

1. Broken Spark Plug Wires or Hot Coil 

This first problem is the most common occurrence in four-wheeled vehicles. The issue is very simple, namely a broken spark plug wire. 

If this happens, the effect is that the coil will leak and the spark plug will not produce a spark. As a result, the coil's spark will die when the engine starts to heat up. 

Although it seems very simple, this problem often occurs due to a lack of routine engine inspections. Generally, this damage is also referred to as a coil damaged by heat. 

Try applying a wet cloth compress to the coil. This method of repairing a damaged car coil is only temporary, as the coil must still be replaced.  

2. Car Coil Does Not Emit Spark on the Spark Plug 

This second repair solution is more aimed at cases where the underlying problem is due to wires and connection contacts having corrosion. 

The corrosion will obstruct the flow of electricity from the coil to the spark plug. Thus, the spark plug cannot produce a spark to initiate ignition. This damage is also very common. 

However, this condition should not be taken lightly. The corrosion will hinder the engine's functionality for starting and also during operation while driving. 

If left for a long time, the coil can crack, making the car's problem worse. One thing to emphasize is the effect of this damage. 

Corrosion and cracks make the ignition system not work optimally. These cracks can be caused by the engine being forced to work even with a coil that is no longer good. As a result, it leads to overheating and damage to the surrounding coil walls. The solution to repair this damaged car coil is simply to replace it with a new coil.

3. Damage Due to Electrical Leakage 

You need to know that the coil's operation involves the flow of electricity. This is very normal, but the details of the problem must be sought immediately when a leak occurs. 

Generally, this problem occurs more frequently in cars with a carburetor system with long spark plug wires. These wires are very prone to breaking and causing sparks to escape to the coil body. 

If you are curious, the spark jump or leakage can occur because high voltage electricity tends to seek a shortcut to the ground. As a result, the ignition system and spark plug do not work optimally. 

The repair solution is to seal the leak with plastic steel or very strong metal. At least this method of repairing a damaged car coil can be done before taking it to the workshop.

This is to reduce mistakes and prevent the problem from becoming more widespread.
