This regulation is already stated in Law Number 33 of 1964 regarding the Mandatory Passenger Accident Fund. In this case, Jasa Raharja will provide insurance for passengers of public vehicles involved in accidents. 

Legal Liability Insurance for Third Parties

As for the types of accidents covered by PT Jasa Raharja, this is regulated in Law Number 34 of 1964 regarding the Road Traffic Accident Fund. Based on this regulation, assistance funds will be provided to someone involved in an accident but is not a passenger of the vehicle.

Types of Accident Victims Who Can Receive Insurance

After understanding what types of accidents are accepted by Jasa Raharja, the next is the types of accident victims. Jasa Raharja will only provide compensation to accident victims under the following conditions:

• Every person who dies, suffers permanent disability, or is injured due to traffic accidents on land, air, or sea
• Air accident victims for domestic travel routes or passengers of air transportation for hajj 
• Every passenger who is legally in public transport and experiences an accident due to the use of public transport 
• Passengers of public transport such as buses who experience accidents involving ferry sinkings while crossing the sea 
• Victims whose bodies are not found
• People outside the traffic vehicle but become victims of accidents due to the use of traffic vehicles 
• Every motor vehicle user who is hit by another motor vehicle driver. 

Amount of Compensation Provided

It should be noted that the amount of compensation from Jasa Raharja also varies and depends on the conditions. Below are the amounts of compensation that can be provided by Jasa Raharja:

• Death (sea, air, land vehicles): Rp50,000,000
• Permanent disability (sea, air, land vehicles): Rp50,000,000
• Medical treatment and doctor’s fees: Rp20,000,000-Rp25,000,000
• Burial expenses if there are no heirs: Rp4,000,000,000
• Ambulance costs to health facilities: Rp500,000
