Oil or lubricant is an important component for a vehicle, whether it's a motorcycle or a car. This oil serves to lubricate the components of the vehicle. The engine and components indeed need to be given oil so that friction when the engine operates does not cause damage due to overheating. For those of you who have just acquired a personal vehicle in the form of an automatic car, you may still be confused about what types of oil need to be replaced in an automatic car.

Therefore, we summarize for you information regarding the types of oil and their replacements.

What Types of Oil Need to Be Replaced in an Automatic Car

Checking and replacing oil is a mandatory task for automatic car drivers. In addition to maintaining the engine's optimal function, consistently replaced oil will keep the components inside the automatic car free from damage.

As an automatic car owner, you should at least understand what types of oil need to be regularly replaced in an automatic car to ensure the car remains comfortable to drive. Each engine oil has different base materials tailored to the engine's needs.

Not only for the engine, there are several types of oil in an automatic car that you need to know, including transmission oil, power steering oil, brake oil, and also differential oil.

Before replacing the oil for an automatic car, it is advisable to first understand your vehicle's specifications. Because the type of oil needed varies depending on the type of transmission of the vehicle.

So, what types of oil need to be replaced in an automatic car? At least, there are four types of automatic car oil that must be checked and replaced as follows:

1. Transmission Oil

The second type of oil needed is transmission oil. This oil functions as a lubricant for the car's gearbox. Of course, the oil used is different, depending on the type of transmission used.

The condition of the engine in an automatic car often depends on its transmission. To ensure the automatic transmission operates smoothly, oil replacement must be done consistently. Changing the transmission oil is also important to maintain engine performance and optimal gear shifting.

2. Brake Oil

Replacing brake oil is very important to ensure the brakes function optimally and always perform well. Additionally, replacing the oil can protect the engine components from dangerous risks.

The volume of brake oil must be checked consistently to ensure the oil level does not fall below the minimum line. You should also pay attention to changes in the color of the oil. Immediately replace the oil if the color changes to brown or black.

The process of replacing brake oil is generally done at least once every two years, depending on the condition and needs of your car's engine.

3. Power Steering Oil

If your car has a hydraulic power steering system, then replacing the power steering oil is a common practice. For this system, there is no specific type of oil used; you just need to ensure the oil has good conductivity.

As important as engine oil in an automatic car, power steering oil also requires maintenance or replacement. Its function is simple, serving as a hydraulic pump to make it easier for the driver to control the car's steering.

In addition, this oil plays a crucial role in maintaining the rhythm of the steering system's components. Replace it immediately if the oil changes color to brown or even black.

4. Differential Oil

This oil serves to provide lubrication for the car's differential. The differential itself is a gear located on the car's axle. Essentially, differential oil is similar to transmission oil but is only used for the rear wheel drive.

The purpose of this type of oil is to connect the transmission and differential to ensure the engine's working capability runs smoothly.

You need to replace the differential oil if the car has exceeded a mileage of 20,000 km to avoid hearing a buzzing sound from inside the car as a sign of damage.

How about it, friends? Now you are familiar with the types of oil that need to be replaced in an automatic car, right? Check the oil condition and replace it according to the service schedule to keep your automatic car in optimal condition!
