Benefits of the pre-employment card
What are the benefits of the Pre-Employment Card? The government should have launched the Pre-Employment Card program as part of President Jokowi's campaign program. This program consists of training for the workforce accompanied by the provision of incentives. The training and incentives are provided so that the workforce can start their own businesses.
Unfortunately, before the Pre-Employment Card program could run, the pandemic hit Indonesia, causing millions of workers to be laid off and even experience termination of employment. The Pre-Employment Card program was made as assistance similar to the Family Hope Program, Direct Cash Assistance, food aid, and other assistance.
The implementation of the Pre-Employment Card program should have been done offline. However, the pandemic situation required various trainings to be accessed online. Overall, here are the benefits of the Pre-Employment Card that participants can obtain.
- Training funds of Rp1,000,000 that will expire if not used within 30 days
- Post-training incentive funds of Rp600,000/month provided for 4 months
- Job survey incentive funds of Rp150,000
The training funds must be used to participate in the training available through Pre-Employment Card partners. The total amount that participants of the Pre-Employment Card program are entitled to receive reaches Rp3,550,000 for each person.
The Pre-Employment Card is recommended as a solution that can reduce training costs. Not only that, participants who have completed training are also expected to be able to find suitable jobs. With the incentives and training costs covered by the government, the training funds are referred to as semi-BLT. Participants can receive incentives after providing reviews and ratings from the training they have attended.
Each participant can only participate in the Pre-Employment Card program once in their lifetime. Therefore, participants who have had the opportunity must make good use of it. For the first 30 days, selected participants must immediately register for online training classes. If not used, their participation will be revoked, and they will not be able to receive incentive funds. Participants who do not complete the training classes will be blacklisted, preventing them from registering again in the next wave.

Quoting from Tempo.co, on June 30, 2020, the Executive Director of the Pre-Employment Card Management revealed that management decided to stop transactions and sales of training packages from partners.

Transactions and sales of training packages offered by partners were halted to ensure the sustainability of the Pre-Employment Card program in accordance with legal regulations.
Finally, a glimmer of hope emerged from the Pre-Employment Card program wave IV. As reported by Kompas.com, the government began to prioritize job seekers or workers affected by the pandemic.
