Collection of Educational Games for Elementary School Children

Educational games for elementary school children are something that parents need during this pandemic season. This is because, sometimes as parents, we run out of ideas about what games can be used for entertainment in between study activities while still being educational. Here are some educational games for elementary school children that you can play with your kids.
Guess the Object by Alphabet
You can try a fun game to train and increase your child's vocabulary. The game is to guess the object by alphabet.
The way to play is to start with the letter A. Then point to one child who is tasked with finding an object that starts with the letter A. You can narrow it down, for example, to just animal names or just names of fruits and vegetables.
After that child can answer, you can point to another child to find a word that starts with the letter B. And so on until you reach the letter Z. To make it more exciting, you can give points for those who can answer and deduct points for those who cannot answer. The one with the most points will be the winner.
Making Shapes from Block Toys
Another educational game suitable for elementary school children is making shapes from block toys. There are many block toys sold in the market, ranging from the best like Lego to the cheapest.
This block toy can stimulate children to imagine with just those limited blocks. This imagination is what you train in this game.
Usually, to make it more directed, you can give assignments to the children. The goal is for them to solve the problem (task) in their own way (imagination). For example, you can assign them to make a dinosaur from the available blocks. Then you can see what kind of dinosaur each child wants to create.
From this game, you can also see which child is confident and which one just follows their friends. Although there is no winner in this game, you can still appreciate each child's effort in completing their task.

An easy way to assess in this educational game for elementary school children is to give 100 points to the fastest and correct answer. The second fastest child, if they answer correctly, will get 99 points. And so on, decreasing by 1 for each correct answer submitted.

Group Word Communication
If you are a child of the 90s generation, you must have heard of the communication quiz that was once popular on television. This group word communication game is very fun and trains teamwork and sensitivity.
The way to play is to divide into 2 groups. For example, each group consists of 4 people. Then those 4 people line up facing opposite the child at the end. Usually, the other children must wear earplugs or can also be represented by a headset.
The first child who receives the word can only respond with “correct,” “wrong,” or “maybe.” Meanwhile, their friend who is the second person must guess. When the time is up, this second friend can answer “correct,” “wrong,” and “maybe”; while the third friend guesses. This continues until the last friend.
Usually, they are given only 30 seconds to guess for each turn. Whoever has the correct answer until the last member wins. This game is very exciting because it involves speed, intelligence, and teamwork.
Connecting Words Game
