Penyebab Transmisi Matic Bisa Slip atau Los dan Cara Mengatasi

Automatic car owners should know the causes and how to deal with slipping or losing automatic transmissions. This problem often occurs suddenly, disrupting driving comfort. Additionally, a slipping transmission also has a high potential to cause accidents. Instead of being curious about the causes of a slipping automatic transmission and how to address it, let's directly find out more by paying attention to the following explanation.

Causes of Automatic Car Transmission Slipping or Losing

A slipping or losing automatic transmission can be caused by several factors as follows.

1. Poor quality transmission fluid

A slipping or losing automatic transmission is usually caused by the use of low-quality or poor transmission fluid. This happens because the transmission fluid cannot properly lubricate the surfaces of the car's transmission components. As a result, friction between the surfaces of the transmission components increases, accelerating the wear of the transmission components.

2. Lack of transmission fluid

Transmission fluid leaks can also cause the automatic transmission to slip or lose. These leaks cause the transmission components not to receive lubrication as needed, making them prone to wear.

3. Blocked oil line pressure

As is known, oil line pressure plays an important role in the amount of oil pressure produced. If the oil line pressure is blocked, the oil pressure produced is low. This hinders the performance of the clutch and brake, accelerating the wear of these components.

4. Problems with the braking system

A slipping or losing automatic transmission can also occur due to a problematic braking system. A problematic braking system makes it difficult to control the car's speed.

5. Damaged torque converter

The torque converter functions as a power transfer device that allows the engine's rotational power to be transmitted to the automatic transmission. If this component is damaged, power cannot be transmitted to the automatic transmission, causing the car's transmission to slip and lose power.

6. Damaged automatic solenoid

As is known, the automatic solenoid functions to control the pressure and capacity of the oil that will be transmitted through the oil line pressure. If this component is damaged, the performance of the oil line pressure is automatically hindered, affecting the performance of the clutch, brake, and planetary gear.

7. Problems with the TCM (Transmission Control Module)

The TCM functions as a data analyzer from the ECM (Engine Control Module) sensor to adjust the gear ratio needed by the car through the solenoid. If the TCM is damaged, the car's gear ratio cannot be adjusted as needed, causing the automatic transmission to lose power.

How to Address Slipping or Losing Automatic Transmission

To address a slipping or losing automatic transmission, you need to pay attention to the following methods.

1. Use quality transmission fluid

To prevent the automatic transmission from slipping, you need to use high-quality automatic transmission fluid. To obtain quality fluid, you can buy it at an official workshop. Don't forget to choose transmission fluid with the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) logo. You also need to change the transmission fluid every 40,000 kilometers.

2. Regularly check the condition of the transmission fluid storage tank

Next, you need to regularly check the condition of the transmission fluid storage tank. Make sure the transmission fluid capacity is not below the standard oil requirement.

3. Pay attention to driving habits

For those of you who have a habit of pressing the brake pedal while in D position when stopping at a red light, you need to break this bad habit, as it triggers the automatic transmission to slip. You can shift the D lever to N position first.

4. Perform regular and periodic servicing

Lastly, you need to perform regular and periodic servicing at an official workshop such as Daihatsu workshop. This way, the mechanic will check the condition of the transmission system, the car's electrical system, and the braking system thoroughly. Not only can slipping automatic transmission issues be resolved well and quickly, but other problems can also be addressed effectively.
