The impact of technological advancement does not only affect internet access speed, my friend. This advancement also influences a security system in our cars, namely the central lock door. Now, you don't have to bother locking the car manually.

With this system, you can lock all the car doors simultaneously. As the driver, you have control over all the car doors. The central lock door can be operated via a remote control so that you can lock or unlock the doors from a distance.

Components and How Central Lock Door Works

In general, the Central lock door consists of actuator, mainboard, module, siren, LED, and remote. The mainboard is the brain that sends signals to other components. For example, the Door switch will send a signal to the mainboard, and the mainboard will receive that signal and forward it to the central lock door components.

In the mainboard, there are also power cables and batteries, ground cables, ignition switch and brake switch cables, memory LED cables, two Tail light cables, one siren cable, two control module cables, and two actuator cables.

Then, another important part of the central lock door is the actuator. This component is the mechanical pull/push lever for the door lock. The actuator is controlled by the module. The module serves as the main unit that provides electricity to the actuator.

Some Issues with Central Lock Door

Although advanced, the central lock door is still not free from problems. There are components that are prone to damage or jam. For example, a rusty door lock. It is advisable to apply anti-rust lubricant every few months. This component is located on the edge of the door, attached to the car body.

In addition, the dynamo or iron shooter can also weaken. This component is prone to damage because its impact is strong enough to move the lock. Furthermore, the motor driving the central lock door can also wear out.

Do not slam the door too hard. Excessive impact can cause the drive gear to change position. The drive gear is related to the lever or drive rod. Well, a bent drive rod due to impact can trigger the central lock system to jam.

Common problems with the central lock door are caused by the system jamming due to infrequent lubrication or cleaning. The gears and drive rods can be disturbed by dust or dirt that accumulates, my friend.

Therefore, you are advised to regularly check the central lock door system and clean the gaps of the doors at least every six months. However, you must also be careful. If you clean it with water, the electrical current of the central lock door could short circuit.

The last thing you need to check is the wires in the central lock door system. This is related to the electrical current as the power source for the central lock door.

Central Lock Door is often overlooked. It can be said that this component will be the last priority to check because parts like tires, radiators, brakes, and others are considered more important. However, when you think about it, the central lock door plays an important role in keeping your car secure.

We often leave valuable items in the car. And we forget to lock the car properly. How dangerous, right? It can also happen when we want to go on vacation with family or a partner, your younger or older sibling forgets to lock the back door.

Well, that’s the use of the central lock door. The responsibility for security lies with the car driver as the controller of the lock door. Don't underestimate the central lock door, my friend. Check again now. Are all your car doors securely locked?
