What Is the Terios Eco Indicator Feature?
The latest Daihatsu Terios comes with a new feature called eco-idle. What is eco idle? Eco idle is a feature that functions to save fuel in the car. So, if the eco idle or eco indicator light is on, it means that the car is in fuel-saving mode.
The eco indicator is when you gently press the gas pedal smoothly and not abruptly. So what is the difference between the eco indicator and eco mode? The eco indicator usually serves only as a sign that the car is in fuel-saving mode. Meanwhile, eco mode is typically found in more advanced cars, where the eco mode automatically adjusts the car's fuel consumption to be more economical without you needing to set it.
The eco idle feature in the Daihatsu Terios will automatically turn off and turn on the engine when the car is stopped, for example, when the car is in traffic or a jam.

How to Turn On and Off the Terios Eco Indicator Feature

First, make sure the car is stopped. Then turn on the ignition key. Pay attention to the ODO or odometer. On the ODO, there is an eco indicator in the green section, which indicates that the eco indicator is active.
To turn off the eco indicator, press the rightmost button below the ODO text. Below the ODO text, there are 3 buttons: H (Hour), M (Minutes), and ODO/TRIP DISP. Press the ODO/TRIP DISP button for about two to three seconds, and the message Eco ON will appear. Eco ON means the eco is active. Now, if you press it again for about two to three seconds, the eco will turn off, and the message eco OFF will appear.
Then press again, and the message End will appear. This means the eco indicator is in process. After that, you can start the car. Once the car is on, the eco indicator light will disappear. To turn it on again, press the ODO/TRIP DISP button for about two to three seconds, and the message Eco Off will appear, then press the ODO/TRIP DISP button again for 2 to 3 seconds, and the eco indicator will light up, showing the message Eco ON.
So, the eco indicator is a sign that your car is in fuel-saving mode. When this eco indicator is on, make sure that when you drive the car, you drive slowly and do not abruptly press the gas pedal.
