To maximize the performance of a car, there are many engine components that have different functions. One of the most important parts of a car engine that affects the performance of an engine is the cylinder head component.

1. Camshaft or Lobe Shaft on the Cylinder Head

The first part of the cylinder head is the camshaft or lobe shaft. This component functions to regulate and press the valve lifter to control the valves to open and close. 

This can function for both the exhaust and intake valves. The way this component works adjusts the timing and speed of the vehicle's engine according to needs.

2. Valve Lifter or Valve Pusher of the Cylinder Head

To transmit pressure from the camshaft to the rocker arms, the car engine needs a valve pusher or what is known as a valve lifter. This component has a bowl-like shape and is made of aluminum. 

Valve lifters in the cylinder head component work with low friction to reduce the power that occurs in the engine.

3. Intake Valve and Exhaust Valve of the Cylinder Head

Equally important as the previous components, there are also the intake valve and the exhaust valve that work together in the engine. 

The intake valve functions as the entrance for air leading to the combustion chamber. The size of this part tends to be larger than the others because it is meant to allow air and fuel to enter. 

Meanwhile, the exhaust valve, often referred to as the exhaust valve, functions as the exit for the leftover combustion gases to the exhaust system. 

The shape of this cylinder head component is smaller than that of the intake valve so that the air and fuel mixture does not escape during the exhaust process. Thus, this part helps the engine perform more optimally. 

4. Valve Seat and Valve Keeper of the Cylinder Head

As the name suggests, the valve seat is part of the car engine's cylinder head that serves as the seat for the valve head. The function of this component can prevent several issues, including gaps in the valve. 

This will make the engine's performance more optimal because there is no opening process before the engine needs it. Meanwhile, the Valve keeper functions as a position holder for the valve against the spring force generated by the engine. 

As the name implies, this valve will remain in the same position, not moving anywhere. This causes the valve to be pulled upward and close slowly and precisely at the valve seat in the cylinder head component. 

These are some parts of the cylinder head that you must know. All components work together to produce optimal engine performance.
