Progressive Car Tax Rates in Jakarta Will Increase Starting 2025
JAKARTA, OCTOBER 2024, Starting from the beginning of 2025, vehicle owners, especially those with license plates No. Pol B, must recalculate their expenditure costs. This is because in January, the rate of 'Progressive Tax' for motor vehicles in DKI Jakarta will increase.
"The increase in the progressive tax rate in Jakarta is stated in the DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2024. The new PKB rate will take effect from January 5, 2025," said Herlina Ayu, Public Relations of Bapenda DKI Jakarta, (29/10). (source: Kompas.com)
Herlina continued, in Article 7 paragraph (1), it is stated that the PKB rate for ownership or control by individuals is 2 percent for the first vehicle ownership up to 6 percent for the fifth ownership and beyond.
Progressive Tax Increases by 1% From Previously 0.5%
It is explained that the progressive tax rate for vehicles will increase by 1 percent for each ownership beyond one. Previously, the increase was only 0.5 percent.
Therefore, Daihatsu friends who will be affected by this regulation are motor vehicle ownership based on the name, population identification number, and/or the same address. As stated in Article 7 of the regulation.
The Maximum Limit Becomes 6 Percent For The 5th Vehicle and Beyond
It is known that the progressive tax only applies to the second, third, and subsequent motor vehicles of one registered owner. Thus, the more motor vehicles owned, the higher the tax amount that must be paid.
However, the maximum limit can reach 10 percent for the seventeenth vehicle and beyond. In the latest policy, the increase for each owned vehicle becomes 1 percent. However, the maximum limit becomes 6 percent for the fifth vehicle and beyond.
Here Are The Progressive PKB Rates According To The Latest Regulations:
- 2 percent for the ownership and/or control of the first motor vehicle;
- 3 percent for the ownership and/or control of the second motor vehicle;
- 4 percent for the ownership and/or control of the third motor vehicle;
- 5 percent for the ownership and/or control of the fourth motor vehicle;
- 6 percent for the ownership and/or control of the fifth motor vehicle and beyond.
