Additionally, this program is also organized as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

This program is held over a long period, namely 3 months, to provide enough time for the community to take advantage of this relief. However, it is advisable to participate in this vehicle tax amnesty as soon as possible and not to delay. 

Types of Vehicle Taxes Waived

The tax amnesty is a program for the elimination of penalties or reduction of tax arrears organized by Samsat. This program for the elimination of vehicle tax penalties and vehicle name transfer fees in DIY aims to raise public awareness of the importance of fulfilling vehicle tax obligations. 

In the Jogja 2025 vehicle tax amnesty program, there are several types of taxes that receive penalty waivers. There are three types of taxes included in this program, as follows:

• Waiver of motor vehicle tax penalties.
• Waiver of vehicle name transfer fees
• Waiver of penalties for Mandatory Traffic Accident Fund Contributions (SWDKLLJ) for the previous year and prior years

Conditions for Vehicle Tax Amnesty Jogja

Before participating in this year’s Jogja vehicle tax amnesty program, there are several conditions you need to understand. It is important to note that vehicle data will be deleted if not re-registered at least two years after the STNK validity period ends.

These conditions refer to Article 77 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation, as well as Article 84 of Police Regulation Number 7 of 2021 on Motor Vehicle Registration and Identification. 

The policy for the elimination of administrative sanctions for vehicle taxes and vehicle name transfer fees in Jogja this year is also based on the Governor of DIY Decree Number 274 of 2025. This is specifically stated in the First Dictum which states:

"Eliminate Administrative Sanctions for Motor Vehicle Taxes and Motor Vehicle Name Transfer Fees for those making payments from August 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025."

Requirements for Vehicle Tax Amnesty Jogja

To participate in the vehicle tax amnesty, there are several requirements you need to prepare and fulfill. Here are the requirements to join the motor vehicle tax amnesty to be exempt from tax penalties:

• Bring an active STNK and original BPKB for verification.
• Attach photocopies of STNK, BPKB, and ID card.
• Prepare a sum of money for the payment of the principal tax. Payment is only for the outstanding PKB principal and does not include penalties.

Meanwhile, for those who want to obtain a waiver of the Vehicle Name Transfer Fee (BBNKB), here are the requirements that must be met:

• Bring original documents and photocopies of STNK, ID card, and BPKB
• Attach the vehicle purchase receipt with a signature on a stamp

If the applicant's domicile does not match the area listed in the vehicle documents, the applicant needs to carry out the file withdrawal process first. The file withdrawal must be done before applying for the vehicle name transfer fee amnesty program.
