Penyebab Klep Mobil Bengkok dan Cara Mengatasinya

Bent valves in cars are a common problem that should not be taken lightly. Because it can cause massive damage to the car's engine. So what causes this problem to occur and what is the right solution to address it? For more details, please pay attention to the following review.

Causes of Bent Car Valves

Car valves are components that have a significant influence on the success of the air and fuel mixing process in the engine's combustion chamber. If this component is damaged, the engine's performance will be disrupted. So what causes car valves to bend? For more details, please pay attention to the following causes.

1. Broken Timing Belt

Bent car valves are usually caused by a broken timing belt. As is known, the timing belt functions to synchronize the piston and car valves. If the timing belt breaks, the car valves and piston cannot make contact, leading to damage to the engine head, piston, and car valves.

2. Engine Oil Shortage

A shortage of oil in the engine can also cause car valves to bend. As is known, engine oil serves as a lubricant that can reduce significant friction between the piston and the valves. If the oil capacity in the engine is too low, the significant friction between these two components cannot be prevented, resulting in wear on both components and other engine parts.

3. Frequent Driving at High RPM

Bent car valves can also be caused by bad driving habits. For example, driving too often at high RPM. This habit can cause the valves to come into direct contact with the car piston, which over time can lead to serious damage such as valve expansion, bending of the valves, and even piston damage.

4. Incorrect Valve Adjustment

Bent car valves can also occur due to mistakes made during valve adjustment. Incorrect valve position adjustment can cause a collision between the valves and the piston. As a result, the valves can easily bend.

How to Fix Bent Car Valves

To fix bent car valves, you need to know some of the following methods.

1. Regularly Check the Timing Belt

Regularly checking the timing belt can prevent bent car valves. Because you can see the condition of the timing belt to determine if it is worn or still good. If wear occurs, you can immediately replace the timing belt so that wear on the valves can be prevented early.

2. Regularly Check Engine Oil Condition

Regularly checking the engine oil can also prevent car valves from bending. You can perform checks about twice a month to see if the engine oil is still sufficient or not. If the engine oil is nearly depleted, refill it immediately. However, if the oil condition is already thick, you can replace it with new oil.

3. Avoid Driving at High RPM

As previously explained, driving at high RPM can cause car valves to bend. Therefore, you need to avoid the habit of driving at high RPM. Always pay attention to the car's tachometer while driving and avoid the engine operating above the specified RPM speed limit.

4. Pay Attention to Valve Position During Adjustment

If you intend to adjust the valves, you must always pay attention to whether the valve position is installed correctly. Proper valve positioning can prevent the valves from bending. Ensure there is some distance between the valve and piston so that these two components do not come into direct contact when the engine operates to avoid collisions between the two components.
