Which Region Has CD Plates?
For those of you who are curious about where vehicles with CD plates come from, you need to know the following facts. The CD letter code on vehicle license plates stands for Corps Diplomatique. This plate code is used for official vehicles from various countries for the purposes of international organizations or embassies.
According to Article 4 of the Regulation of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police Number 5 of 2012 regarding the Registration and Identification of Motor Vehicles, the use of CD plates is divided into two as follows.
- CD code, accompanied by a country code number, registration number used by the Diplomatic Corps for official vehicle purposes.
- CD code, accompanied by a country code number, letter code P, registration number used by the Diplomatic Corps for personal vehicle purposes.
Example: A vehicle with the license plate CD 12 34
The number in the middle (12) is the country code, while the number behind it (34) is the registration number.
As previously explained, the CD plate is used for official vehicles from various countries. Of course, each country has different country codes. The use of CD plates itself starts from the number 12 to number 130 to distinguish each country. Here is the list of CD license plates in Indonesia.
