Five Potential Violations of Zebra Operation 2024 That Daihatsu Friends Need to Know
JAKARTA, OCTOBER 2024, Violating traffic rules does not always occur when making mistakes in front of officers. Vehicle owners must also know the rules as users of the same public road. Therefore, the requirements to have a Driver's License (SIM), Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK), and other equipment must be in accordance with their intended use.
By complying with all traffic rules, drivers are expected to raise public awareness of the importance of orderly traffic. That's why yesterday, Monday (14/10) until 27/10/2024, the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police is conducting Operation Zebra. There are several violations targeted in this Operation Zebra 2024.
In this Operation Zebra, officers will provide more warnings for traffic violators, especially violations that often cause accidents. Officers will also utilize the ETLE ticketing system, so violators will be monitored by surveillance cameras.

Well, to help Daihatsu friends avoid violations. Here are 5 important points that must be adhered to besides having a complete SIM and STNK.
1. Four-Wheeled Vehicles or More Not Equipped with Standard Equipment
According to Article 278 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation, anyone driving a four-wheeled or more motor vehicle on the road that is not equipped with standard equipment such as a spare tire, warning triangle, jack, wheel wrench, and first aid kit is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of 1 (one) month or a fine of up to Rp 250,000.
2. Installing Rotators and Sirens Not for Their Intended Use
Rotators and sirens are only intended for certain vehicles. Private vehicles are not included, and if one dares to install strobes or sirens, they will be subject to Article 287 paragraph 4 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation with a penalty of imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month or a fine of up to Rp 250,000.
3. Using Secret Plates or Official Plates for Personal Vehicles
Vehicles using special/secret license plates that are not in accordance will also be ticketed. According to Article 280 of Law No. 22 of 2009, drivers whose vehicles are not equipped with the Motor Vehicle Registration Number set by the Indonesian National Police are punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of 2 months or a fine of up to Rp 500,000.
4. Using a Mobile Phone While Driving
Driving while using a mobile phone is also considered a violation of Article 283 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation. This is the threat of sanctions.
'Anyone who drives a motor vehicle on the road in an unreasonable manner and engages in other activities or is influenced by a situation that causes a disturbance in concentration while driving on the road as referred to in Article 106 paragraph (1) is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of three months or a fine of up to Rp 750,000'.
5. Misuse of Diplomatic License Plates
As mentioned earlier, motor vehicles must be equipped with the Motor Vehicle Registration Number set by the Indonesian National Police. If the license plate used is not in accordance, the threat of sanctions is imprisonment for a maximum of two months or a fine of up to Rp 500,000 according to Article 280 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation.
