When an Accident Happens, Don't Do These 5 Things

Traffic accidents are always a threat to vehicle users and traffic. Caution and carefulness are essential for all road users to avoid the possibility of accidents. 

Accidents are not something that everyone wants. However, no matter how hard we try to avoid accidents, the possibility of an accident still exists. 1. Do not leave your car on the road

If the impact is not too severe, it is better to park your car on the shoulder of the road, do not leave it unattended especially if it causes traffic jams.  Then as soon as possible contact the police where you will get assistance including an ambulance if needed.

2. Do not leave the scene

Stay at the scene, do not ever leave the location of the incident. Leaving the scene can result in additional penalties for you, especially if the accident causes fatalities. Once again, you must be responsible for providing a detailed report about the accident to the police.

3. Destroying evidence

If the police are looking for evidence when you have an accident and you intentionally destroy it, it is better not to do this. It will worsen your situation in the future.

4. Not contacting the police and recording accident details

If you find an accident on the road, but you do not report it to the police, this is also a form of violation. The step you should take if you encounter an accident is to report it to the nearest police station as soon as possible. Don’t forget to also ask for personal data from the other parties involved (the owner of the car that was hit or that hit), record the driver's license number, name, address, phone number, and also the vehicle's license plate number.

5. Do not underestimate the impact of injuries during an accident

Sometimes you forget to check into the hospital after an accident. Even if you have minor injuries, you should get a detailed check-up from the hospital to know whether your injuries are truly severe or not.
