Personal four-wheeled vehicles are certainly equipped with an air conditioner. This component functions as an air cooler inside the car cabin and maintains a stable temperature. Since it is often used, it needs to be cleaned regularly.

1. Disassembling the AC Evaporator

The first step to clean the AC evaporator is to ensure the vehicle is parked in a clean and dust-free place.

This is to ensure that the air circulation from outside the car cabin can enter the car properly. Additionally, make sure the car is in a condition with the engine off.

After completing this process, you need to prepare the cleaning tools required. These tools include a brush and a special cleaning liquid for the evaporator

Not only that, you also need to know the layout of the air intake ducts or blower located in the glove box

Open the glove box (the drawer on the passenger dashboard side) using a plus screwdriver. There you will see a rectangular-shaped filter box. Then take the AC filter from inside that box. Check the condition of that part and then brush it thoroughly.

2. Using Special AC Cleaning Liquid

The next step you can prepare is a special AC cleaning liquid. This liquid is widely sold in online stores or AC workshops, so it is not difficult to obtain. For more effective cleaning, it is better to choose a liquid in spray form with foam content.

After that, shake the spray can first to mix the contents evenly. The next thing you need to do is insert the spray can close to the vehicle's AC blower. This must be done so you can reach and spray accurately.

3. Removing Dust from the AC Evaporator

Once you have cleaned using the special liquid, you must ensure the condition of the AC evaporator

This is to ensure that any remaining dust or dirt does not block the AC ventilation. Cleaning it is quite easy; make sure the ventilation hose is free from blockages by brushing it.

Don't forget to start the engine and check whether the AC temperature in the cabin feels cold or not. If the AC airflow is back to being cold and normal, then the AC cleaning has gone smoothly.

After that, you need to reinstall the cleaned air filter in the glove box located on the car's dashboard side.

Reinstalling the air filter is one of the final steps in cleaning the car AC condenser to make it work properly again. Reattach the glove box as it was before, and the AC is ready to use.
