For example, in the starter system of four-wheeled vehicles. In its operation, this part is equipped with a car starter dynamo component that has its own function. Here is the review.
1. Armature Coil
The first component you should know about the car starter is the armature coil. The task of this component called armature coil is to act as a conductor that will be supplied with electric current.
Having a cylindrical shape, the armature coil is made with a core material of iron wrapped in copper windings. It is no wonder that its conductivity is very good.
At its end, there is a commutator component that functions to receive electric current from the battery and will be channeled to the armature coil. Later, the commutator will distribute the electric current so that it can flow back and forth.

2. Brush or Sikat
Not much different from the armature coil, the component called brush or sikat is also made of copper. Its function is to conduct electric current to the commutator.
In the armature coil circuit, the commutator will also rotate when the armature shaft rotates. Then the brush conducts to the rotating commutator component.
Because the brush is made of soft copper material, the friction force produced is also smaller. However, unfortunately, the brush component will also experience more natural wear. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the condition of the brush by performing regular maintenance. Generally, this component consists of four pieces grouped into two parts.
3. Pinion Gear and Drive Lever
You should know that the pinion gear is a component of the car starter dynamo that is closely related to the armature coil located at the end of the armature shaft.
Its function is as a gear that will transmit the rotation of the armature shaft to the flywheel. Having a smaller shape, the pinion gear can reduce the rotation of the armature coil to produce a greater torque.
Drive lever is also referred to as plunger, which is a lever used to move the pinion gear to engage with the flywheel. Not only that, the drive lever also functions to release that engagement when the starter motor stops rotating.
Usually, this component is driven by the pull-in coil in the starter clutch when the ignition key is in the “ST” or Start position.
4. Starter Clutch
Known as the starter relay, this component has the task of supplying the main current from the battery directly to the starter motor. The component called starter clutch will be active when the ignition key is in the “ST” position.
Inside this car starter dynamo component, there are two coils, namely pull-in coil and hold-in coil, each of which has its own important tasks.
A four-wheeled vehicle cannot move without various engine components inside it. Therefore, it is advisable to get to know them more closely. This is useful so that when your beloved vehicle experiences unexpected damage, you can identify which component is having a problem.
